Joking aside what a painful watch and terrible performance. All I would like to take away from this game is Manu’s 2nd half.
Let’s hope we leave this performance behind and secure at least Champions league for next season

Putting it all on Jonas is crazy. Can’t exactly blame the manager if the players are sluggish all over the pitch and having a downright shit game.
If Jonas had changed things in the first half and things didn’t improve you’ll say he’s rattled. Jonas doesn’t change anything and you’ll say he’s afraid of change. After Stina’s hat trick last game you called for Jonas to start Stina. Jonas starts Stina you say he should’ve started Russo. Foord has a shit game and we ask why she’s starting. Jonas subs her off early enough and you say he’s scrambling. Lacasse not being great when she comes on and you say Jonas shouldn’t have subbed Foord. Codina has a nervy game against United and you say Williamson needs to come back soon. Williamson starts and you say she isn’t ready.
Point is, we have the benefit of hindsight. No manager does. As for foresight, I wouldn’t have expected our players to play so terribly today either.
I finished typing this and realised that maybe I should take these takes less seriously. Great therapy. Thank you for listening to my ted talk.

Absolutely embarrassing performance. Most of the team looked off today. Maybe a week off is no good for this crew. And the starting lineup was not it. Russo and Fox needed to be on. Sub them off at the half if you must, but…They *always* have the energy and mindset right, even when on the losing side.

The whole commentary narrative of such a weak chelsea side is bs, we’re without players too and lets face it leah wasnt matchfit for today im guessing she was rushed with the whole ilesedt scenario. If we don’t win the conti final this is absolutely a failure of a season. Awful performance today by basically everybody, manu redeemed herself second half but thats it. All in all even if we do manage to win the final, this season overall has been a disappointment imo. Which sucks cause last season was so promising

What to even say? Dont think the tactics were that bad, (wont be sure until i rewatch tho) but the first half energy was just atrocious, the attention to detail didnt exist, and we lost every one on one and even one on two. Deflections were crazy, and maybe in 8 months we see how crazy they really were, but for now a lot of these players need to know that just wasnt good enough.
My issue with with Jonas is that he wont be making changes to the side that reflects the poor play. Is KCC that far from starting? Can Cloe not start?

Jonas has to be on the clock. Caitlin Foord has been shite the entire season but is always in the starting XI. Beth Mead has been a passenger the whole of 2024, Plays full 90mins. Blackstenius was the only one creating anything meaningful from our forwards but was subbed out at half time. Russo at number 9 is not working, she’d be more effective at the number 10 position… But Jonas refuses to play her with Stina. I wasn’t onboard the Jonas out train but now I’m leaning towards it.

I will give the biggest credit to Manu for keeping it 3-1. Ppl tend to blame her for everything but last time I checked it’s not manu’s fault that we only had 2 shots on target in 95mins.
Manu was solid in the second half. This whole performance today however was subpar at best and just really underwhelming. They came at this game the way Emma came to the game that we won just read it all very wrong.
People will blame Manu but I think she had a good game. Maybe she could have done more to follow up on the first goal but otherwise unfortunate deflections.
Just an overall bad day and a bad system in place.

So poor all over the pitch, like a lot of this season tbh.
We’ve had a lot of performances where we have scraped through and got a result by the skin of our teeth (City with Keating’s mistake, Villa at the Emirates, last minute equaliser at United away, uncomfortable score lines with championship teams in the Conti Cup etc). Not to mention the losses to teams we shouldn’t be losing to.
At first I thought maybe it’s because we need some players back from injury/for the team to gel, but times ticking, most players are back and it’s been months for players to gel. I don’t see where it gets much better, we are so inconsistent in performance levels.
We seem so vulnerable defensively and toothless in most games bar the odd exception

Do I think Fox and Russo should’ve started? Yes. Do I think Jonas is the worst and this result is completely on him? No! I genuinely haven’t seen so many of our players play so badly in the same game.
As absurd and funny as this sounds, sockgate was possibly a factor in this performance. At least in the first half. I’ll cope however I can.
I really hope Arsenal will have its revenge at the Conti cup final.
I 4-1 will never forget the Emirates game. You’ll never sing that, Chelsea.
P. S. I really think I’m getting the hang of the whole coping-with-a-loss skill.

Zinsberger, I am familiar with your Ramsdale gimmick, cost us the game state and make useless saves to paper the cracks for your incompetence. I am not moved. Though I will patiently wait for Tim Stillman to tell us how good you have got. Though you are the worst of the four.

The team wasn’t up for it from the start and that’s on the manager.

As much as this loss will hurt for a while, the only positive is that leah played the full 90+ minutes since her injury, and the poor girls badge tap and bawling her eyes out at the end, hope she realises we all love her x

I went back and forth on Jonas’s culpability like 20 times and ultimately this was down more to the players, but only slightly. I think he was wrong to not start Fox and have McCabe play LB instead. Otherwise we had our best midfield, best CB pairing, and Stina was on an absolute heater going into this match. But some of the players looked like they could barely string 3 passes together or mark their player to save their life. They kept turning the ball over in midfield and got crushed by LJ who had all the time in the world to ping passes out to the wing. Just a lack of intensity throughout the first half.
