He actually is like a bad luck at the back. because the whole match vs freiburg we were winning 1-2. as soon as he joined…5 minutes in, they scored. Like bayern with upamecano are becoming chelsea at this point.
Kick this guy out. He should stay as leipzig or salzburg. he doesn't know how defend.
Upamecano has played well for France and put up a great performance in the World Cup final which shows he can be a top player in big games. His blunders are always after another which is worrying, but there’s an element of bad luck. I think the root problem is the lack of a DM (or at least someone who is willing to play defensively) which leaves defenders exposed. The scrambling to get the ball in the Lazio game that led to the red card was some of the worst the midfield has shown this season. Kim and De ligt also had their share of blunders, but we forget them since they weren’t during big games. He’s probably the easiest to sell of the 3 main defenders, but I don’t think selling him is gonna solve the actual problems the team is having
At this point he's got to be on the bench as a third or fourth choice center back until he improves. He's a good third or fourth choice center back right now though 😌👌
