Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has hit back at critics questioning his commitment to the club but has admitted he has “made mistakes”.
The 26-year-old was recently the subject of internal disciplinary proceedings at Man Utd after an unsanctioned trip to Belfast last month saw him report ill for training and miss the FA Cup third-round win at Newport.
Rashford was also criticised earlier this season for going to a nightclub after October’s 3-0 derby defeat to Manchester City.
Rashford has now broken his silence over both his form and off-pitch issues in a first-person account on The Players’ Tribune in which he also says he believes he has been unfairly targeted by the media because of his campaigning over free school meals in England during the coronavirus pandemic.

Rashford is an average player who had one great season (5 month period).
He’s been put up on a pedestal and has always been measured against a level he cannot possible attain.

He was on £250,000 per week, New contract signed in August 2024 £375,000 per week.That equates to an annual salary of £15.6 million, meaning that Rashford will make £78m over five years. For a player who can't score more than ten goals per season unless he needs to sign a new contract or is dropped from the England National team, not bad, now we are getting a history lesson because he's getting criticism for his poor performances.
Ok, if anyone is bringing his family into this, that is too far, but it's certainly fair game to question his commitment. Yes the scoring is down, what I'm referring to is a visible lack of energy, concentration, drive, and focus while he's on the pitch. He's sleepwalking through matches and honestly, it's difficult to tell when he's on the pitch. If there's something going on off the pitch, get him out of the starting 11 and let him deal with it. But if the team thinks he's playing well enough to warrant a starting spot, then they (like Rashford) are blind to the obvious.

You properly show commitment by actually burning your energy levels off on the pitch offensively and defensively. Not by making false misleading statements to the fans who had your back from day one that you have now peed off with your disrespectful antics. Rashford needs to stop making statements like this, keep his mouth shut, actually knuckle down and get on with his job properly.
Hojlund and Garnacho don't deserve to be around someone like Rashford who is setting the wrong examples and behaviour that other players should not have to follow. That contract should never have been awarded in the first place as it has obviously done more harm than good.

I read the comments here and I'm dismayed to support a club means to 100% back the club and its players through both good and bad spells , it doesn't mean slagging him off on social media . I've followed Utd since 1963 and was at Wembley in '68 aged 12 watching Bobby and the lads lifting the European Cup , not once in 61 years have I ever criticised a Utd manager or Player .
