      He said some nice things about Saudi recently. Hopefully he’s changed his mind about going there after he plays in this years Euros. That would be a easy fix for all sides

      what could have been…. if this guy wasn’t such a total narcissist. He has done himself a disservice. Chelsea will still continue and one day soon we’ll be titans in europe again. he will fade into obscurity. i dare say he could have been a chelsea legend if he was just a tad bit humble. now he will be known as the poor sap that should have taken the Saudi offer when he had the chance.

      My chiropractor used to be the Everton teams one. He was saying when big rom came to Everton everyone expected him to be a strong brute like Drogba but he was quite soft spoken, didn’t like contact or to get stuck in. Says it all about him really. He was saying roms work rate in his earlier 20s was very poor, he was a real mother’s boy who did what he wanted and was never told no

      Likely one of the worst transfers of all time. We had to sell multiple players just to afford him.

      If you trace what happened after it gets worse. If we kept Tammy, Guehi, and Tomori instead of buying him we have three cheap FFP players because of not having a transfer fee/yearly amortised loss.

      – Tammy may not be elite but he is a different style of player in a position of our biggest need.
      – Guehi and Tomori could have been the replacements for Rudiger and Christensen. At least one of them.
      – Instead we sign Koulibaly and Fofana, two incredibly high priced players from an annual FFP cost perspective, our costs were already too high before these moves but they take it to another level leasing to us needing to sell multiple players in order to be FFP compliant.
      – I haven’t done the math yet but this is easily a 50M+ swing in annual FFP costs.

      I’m only half joking when I say Lukaku was our downfall.
