Here’s how Xavi REVIVED a 94-year-old tactic and took Barcelona to next level. Again.

On January 27, Xavi announced he will leave his position as Barcelona head coach at the end of the season. In his firm opinion, this decision was meant to ease the tension around the club, with the manager himself admitting that he had given his best and needed to rest.

As a matter of fact, it WORKED! So far, Barcelona have played 6 matches, winning 4 and drawing twice. In La Liga, the team collected 13 points out of 15 possible, thus keeping the title hopes alive – there are still 12 Matchdays left until the end of the campaign, so they still have a mathematical chance to succeed.

The Blaugrana and some of its performers showed much more confidence than before Xavi’s words, and the coach himself became more relaxed and more courageous in his decisions, allowing himself things he could not have done before.

Today we’re going to talk about one of those decisions which could change Barcelona’s season for the better!

This is the Football Club channel and we’re getting started!

  1. This video ..is a reply to all who thought barca is nothing without messi suarez neynar..xavi is a good manager he deserves one more chance as a manager ..we have just started ..

  2. last year they played Eric Garcia as CDM, and he did great.
off to the new season and Xavi didn't try any of his CB's to play as CDM, until this happens

  3. There is still a huge problem with the 3-2-5. The 5 players are too high up in the field leaving a huge gap between themselves and the two pivots. As a result, opponents can easily set up in a 4-4-2 mid block and block any ball progression. This was evident in the Getafe game during the first 10-15 minutes. FDJ was absolutely bullied since it was basically 4 vs 2 in the midfield. The 2 8s in the front 5 have to drop deeper to connect the midfield to the attack.

  4. this tactic is the worst. CDM should work box to box and if CDM wants to move forward, the CB and LB RB should follow together. if CDM moves to forward/backward early there's always in the middle. that's why FDJ should work hard to cover the gap.

  5. Toxic fanboys cannot realize that players are not robots, and these “fans” want everything perfect, right now, winning every game and trophy. Xavi is a great manager, winning Laliga in his first full season as manager. Even Cruyff could not do that.
