Arnie is better than Maxi Gomez | Arnautovic staying at West Ham
West Ham have indicated that Marko Arnautovic will remain at The London Stadium until the summer. Also discussed is Javier Hernandez and a possible transfer to Valencia.

It's a bit like when Fonseca was linked as our next manager in the summer. We didn't know much about him but very quickly decided he was a better option than Pellegrini. I was sold on all the second hand information because by all accounts he was young, charismatic and the next big thing. I think we're all happy that Pellegrini got the job.
The striker situation is similar in that most of us had no clue who Piatek and Gomez were before the last week with the exception of Geo and those who play Fifa and have convinced themselves it's real life. We watch their videos, we read up and they look good, but as you say, who knows whether they'd work out, Perez looked good in Spain, imagine paying 44m for him.
In the long term, I hope we can get good money for Arnautovic and buy younger players, full of hunger and potential, but that might be something for the summer window, if Marko doesn't down tools, I'm perfectly happy to keep him around, but I can't begin to believe that his brother will keep his mouth shut, he's the new David Sullivan!
Agreed Gonzo, on balance I'd prefer Arnie stays until at least the summer. He is a known quantity and Zaza and Calleri amongst others have shown that skills don't always transfer to the Prem. We risk missing out on Gomez and the Polish guy, but on the other hand maybe Arnie gets a new deal in the summer and stays. Even if he doesn't there is more time to prepare for his replacement rather than panic in the silly (Hugill) window. Interested to see what happens if Arnie stays but Chico leaves in this window. I think Nasri will give Chico the kind of service he lives for if he stays. Nasri's assist for Rice was almost identical to the one he gave Anderson in the first half that nearly went in. He reads the game SO well.
Good video gonzo, I must have been posting at about the same time some tin quite similar in the forum- I'm happy to keep arnie at the club, as long as he keep his effort levels at the right level. We can sign a maxi Gomez in the summer to give him competition when we offload others like Carroll, hughill, Hernandez, etc.

40m+ for Maxi Gomez? Iāll be honest, I havenāt watched him much, but Iām not feeling it. If possible, I think Wilson would be the most shrewd purchase(at a reasonable price), if only because he fits the league, and will get goals with our current squad.

What about last week's reported gambling debts? I believe in his heart of hearts Arnautovic doesn't want to leave West Ham and the Premiere League just yet. The China deal would be better for home in 2-3 seasons away if he can keep himself fit. I'm sure his trophy girlfriend is very settled in London too.

Arnie has 8 years on Maxi Gomez, of course he's better at the moment. But in 2-3 years Maxi'll be way better than Arnie is now, then we'll still have 6-7 years of his services unlike Arnie who's time is almost done.
Gomez is younger though. . . and he's never ran home claiming his head wasn't in the right space and cost himself a contract that would have doubled his pay.

Arnie will go in the summer. Carroll will stay with wage cut. We will sign a young South American striker in the summer.

Itās hard to make a comparison since the South American has not been under Pelle s guidance yet while Marco has.
