      Only issue with this kind of retrospective action is that just like VAR and Refs, it's subjective. If something like this did come into play where the suspension varied based on how bad the tackle was, there'd no doubt be contentious decisions with similar tackles getting different lengths of bans. I do however think a blanket rule where if there's no attempt to play the ball, both feet are off the ground, studs are up and the player is caught knee or higher, that the suspension could be upgraded to 5 games.

      It was a disgrace – that was a player picking on who he thought was an easy target – he’s not making that challenge on big name players – he picked on the smallest guy on the pitch , thinking his own fans with cheers and say yeah well done mate … no he was wrong he should be fined 10 weeks wages , 10 match ban , and community service – utter waste man and deserves all the flack he’s getting

      Need to see the whole tackle. It's a red but not intentional no malice what so ever. His foot started on the floor missed the ball and was falling back so the leg went up.

      Fair tackle WTF that was not a tackle it was an assault. A really talented players career could have been finished . For that 10 game suspension minimum. Actually the Sheffield manager would probably prefer if he was banned for longer, because having idiots on your side don’t help .

      It’s a tough job when you get promoted to the PL but when you then sell your best players you’re not respecting the Devision and deserve what you get. That’s really tough on the good loyal supporters .

      James Tarkovski's tackle on Musa Diaby at Goodison Park a few weeks ago could have ended Diaby's career and nothing was given! Tarkovski should have gone and been banned for several games, and Villa should have got a penalty.

      Holgate injured Mitoma. This is a serious incident and is a violation of the behavior of a soccer player. We want him banned from the Premier League.

      I hope so… Holgate try to end Mitoma career so I wish Holgate's career ended this few month.
      To much sacrifation when we let this kinda person go away when did something to end others player career. Mitoma give EPL more regognition in Japan and Asia…Mitoma play good game that give EPL more exciting to watch…etc etc

      Thanks fellas for spending some time on the magnitude of this poor challenge. Seagulls fans know Mitoma regularly gets shoved, tripped, and here mauled, because he routinely embarrasses mediocre talent with grace, skill, and class. Sadly, some can't man up and level up and instead resort to violent challenges. Make an example of this guy.

      These footballers who open their mouth when asked after the game on incidents in the game just say 'I will need to take a look at it again, to formulate an opinion,' otherwise you could look like a clown.
