Marcus Rashford netted after just five minutes before Rasmus Hojlund added a second and Wolves survived an onslaught to reach half-time.
A Pablo Sarabia penalty gave them hope, but that hope dashed four minutes later when Scott McTominay headed in a third.
Max Kilman’s smart finish restored some hope once again, before Pedro Neto’s 95th minute goal seemed to snatch a point.
But just two minutes later Kobbie Mainoo finished to steal all three points and leave Wolves devastated.

Hard one to take. Poor first half. Incredible second half. But into Chelsea now. 3 points a must to keep up with the 7th race. But what a season this is after what we all thought would be a relegation battle.
First half was absolutely terrible! Manchester United looked like world class! Second half was so much better! Wolves really showed real fight back. To get back to 3-3, I hoped they would get the point. But it wasn't to be, bad luck. Always Wolves 🐺
You pretty much both nailed it, not good enough. They need to come out of the blocks quicker, we've seen this "great second half team" thing before and it stinks, we need 90 minutes. To be honest the defense and midfield looked knackered to me, not physically but mentally drained and they have to go again in three bloody days!
Dunno what all the shitty face expression are about you was lot was a load of shit it was only Neto cheating that got you back in the game I'm glad we won how we did hope you feel it
cry all you like it won't help
Semedo was left right in it , Neto was not tracking. In all the defence was terrible , SA needs to control his box and I think this team needs a shake up . But the squad is too small.
The team that finished ……Sarbia, Gomez…..RAN should have started …….just because we beat the Albion…doesn’t mean that Team couldn’t be changed…..for me Gary needs to take the first half on the chin for himself
Expectations at wolves far far too high. A long way from European football, a club with no direction, lacking in leadership on and off the pitch .
Maybe lucky this season to be around mid table but how is this progress?
United should have been out of site first half, wolves very slow all over the place ,united looked like united of old. ,2nd half wolves step up and pull it back ,but it wasn’t to be ,united did deserve to win ,we move on
A familiar story, asleep at the wheel from the first minute. Some serious lessons need to be learned after tonight, but are these players capable of learning❓ It would seem not. Time for the manager to spell it out.
Worst experience at a match for a long time. I'd rather have accepted a quiet 0-2 defeat than suffer that.
It's going to take a lot of days for the rawness of that defeat to subside before I can wtatch this video, read any match report or view any highlights (I'll probably never do the last of those).
Thoroughly and utterly gutted.

Shame! But, must give them credit for fighting back. It isn't easy to come back from where they were.
We weren't at it defensively for some reason. Nearly got something out of nothing….we move on. Have to shake that off.
Not one number 9 at the club, watch us fade away with our wafer thin squad, complete mismanagement
Still very proud of the team and that fight back. If we lose I’d rather go down like that. We move on 🐺
Terrible defending. Quite worrying that we make an average man united team look like Brazil! Brighton will murder us first half. Will be 0-3 then can we get back in it?
Championship defending from Kilman, again.
Not good first half , but thought we did OK in the second , point would have been a good result , sure we will be better against Chelsea. 🧡🖤🧡🖤
That’s fair comment lads
I'm sorry, but it was a poor team selection by Gary to start the match with. Bellegarde is not a number 9 and doherty, we may all love him, but his time has past. to choose him over Ryan was ridiculous. we gave united a 50 minute and 2 goal start; you simply cannot afford to do that at this level of football. end of
I tell you something tho Nathan Fraser got in the right position for a striker when he came on I'd give him a start why Wang's out Cunha left Fraser up top Neto right
Never mind law of averages you rarely beat 2 big club's on the bounce 😂😂😂
