Ugh I really hope not. New York would’ve been the better choice. I was hoping for LA but it didn’t occur to the fools that built SoFi that they may attract events for more than 70,000 people. Good luck with the Texas head in July.

Good- the Final deserves a world class stadium and MetLife is certainly not that. NYC may be our premiere city but the stadium is just not good enough for a Final

  3. If NY gets screwed out of TWO World Cup finals, than that’s fucked up.

There’s no way Texas deserves the final. Straight up corruption.

  4. Remember that stadium is not in Dallas. It’s in Arlington. The transportation system is not good at all. I still see it being the final for sure though. AT&T looks better for a final than MetLife.

Just looked up the satellite view of the stadium and the surrounding area looks absolutely dreadul. Nothing but giant parking lots and highways.

  6. This is definitely gonna get to people who are worried about the difficulties for fans used to getting public transit to stadiums in other countries

Hot take: As cool as it would be for it to be NYC, I think the final should be in DC or LA. I guess Dallas makes sense, but it really should be in DC imo

Personal finals city (US) power rankings:

    1) DC

    2) LA

    3) NYC

    4) Boston

    5) Miami

    6) Dallas

    7) Houston

    8) Chicago

    9) San Francisco

    10) Nashville

Horrible place! No soccer culture at all. Stadium in the middle of nowhere. Should have been in Toronto (being Canadian I am biased but it is the most multicultural city on earth, and there are fans from every country).

    Stadium allocation in my fantasy:

Group stage: 6 matches each per stadium

Round of 32: 1 match each

Round of 16: 2 matches in AT&T (Dallas), 1 each in BC Place (Vancouver), Hard Rock (Miami), Arrowhead (Kansas City), NRG (Houston), Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia) and Azteca (Mexico City)

Quarters: MetLife (New York), Mercedes-Benz (Atlanta), SoFi (Los Angeles) and Lumen Field (Seattle)

Semis: AT&T (Dallas) and Azteca (Mexico City))

Third place match: BC Place (Vancouver)

    Final: MetLife (New York)

  10. Pretty easy choice. Summer in NYC has a line of thunderstorms almost every day in the afternoon/evening. And it can absolutely be 95 degree and humid af.

Dallas has a roof. Simple as that. No risk of delays. No risk of oppressive heat. Bigger/nicer stadium. This really is an easy decision

Dunno if it’s just me (maybe I’m being bias), but I’d rather it be in a historical stadium such as the Azteca. Football heritage basically runs through it.

  12. Despite comments about the city or stadium location, having over 100,000 at a World Cup final is pretty special
