The host nation took on Senegal at the Al-Thumama Stadium in Group A on Friday at the Qatar World Cup
Senegal were the better team of the first-half and snatched a goal in the 41st minute thanks to a mistake by Qatar’s Boualem Khoukhi
Aliou Cisse’s side had a great start to the second-half with an early goal from Famara Diedhiou in the 48th minute
Qatar had chances though and on the hour mark Abdelkarim Hassan had a shot 30-yards out which just fell wide of Edouard Mendy’s post
Six minutes later, Edouard Mendy saved his team again when he denied Ismail Mohamad from close range
Eventually Qatar got what they deserved, Mohamad found Mohammed Muntari in the middle to give Qatar their first World Cup goal
But Senegal caught out the Qatari defence and Bamba Dieng found himself free in the box to slot it past Meshaal Aissa Barsham
