It’d be hard to replace Wilson but a striker that can play 30 games and get 20 goals a season would be a good replacement. Hard to get one of them in January though

Wilson was the one I was most concerned about leaving, especially given Joelinton is out for the season and Gordon is not a striker. We most certainly need a replacement, what will likely be a loan with/without a buy option/obligation

He’ll get a maximum of 12 games per season and he’s getting older now, no doubt that’ll get worse. We need someone more reliable and durable. I’d have Solanke or Mitrovich they seem like the most obvious ones or Benzema on loan

It's far from guaranteed that Wilson would be available to play in the event that Isak was injured anyway. It's just a lottery with Wilson's track record.
With Barnes back (if we can rely on him not breaking down again), Gordon could play up front in place of Isak when necessary. Murphy might not be too far away from availability either as an alternative to Barnes.
I wouldn't be against selling Wilson now if it helped us get someone like Benjamin Sesko in the summer.
Unless we can finish in the Europa league places I'm not that fussed about the league form. The idea of facing Slovenia's 5th best team or whatever in the Conference league isn't something that excites me. Sure the Conference league is a chance of a trophy but unless we win it, it's a completely worthless competition in my opinion.

Isak isn’t a 90minutes player. Neither is Wilson. Can see some logic behind it but we simply aren’t in a position with current squad to let Wilson go
