  1. Why would a young manager choose to coach a team after Jürgen Klopp leaves? It's the worst career choice you could make, always be compared to Klopp, always reminded what the previous manager has done for the club, how great of a situation he has been given. Alonso would be wise to let someone else fail as the successor of Klopp and if he wants to coach Liverpool in the future, he has a whole coaching career ahead of him.

  2. Xabi football is just a photo copy of Pep football. Its not suitable for Liverpool who rely on speed of play and total domination. For me as a Liverpool fan I dont want Xabi Alonso to manage my team. I want fast football high pressure high intensity. Roberto De Zerbi is the right man for the Liverpool Job. Plus he doesnt require adjustment 2 year like Xabi will. It will be straight title challenger

  3. Every manager that starts winning with a team in another country is expected to want to manage in the premier league according to pundits here. Yes I get he played for Liverpool but not every manager has to prove themselves in the Premier League to be considered great which modern pundits can't seem to grasp they just assume it's a given even manager dreams of being in the Premier League

  4. What people don’t understand is Xabis tactics are very innovative. He’s played under 4 of the best managers ever (Benitez, Mourinho, Guardiola and Ancelott). He combines the free flowing counter attack of a mourinho team, compactness in defence of a Benitez team, the strict positional play and possession style of a Guardiola team and man management of a Ancelotti team. And if you think this is nonsense then watch overlaps breakdown of Xabis tactics and watch statman Dave’s latest video on Xabi Alonso tactics

  5. Maybe he’s not quite ready to replace Klopp yet but If Liverpool don’t get Alonso this summer then Madrid and Bayern will soon come calling
