Lisandro Martinez has been ruled out for at least eight weeks with ligament damage in his right knee.

The 26-year-old defender sustained the injury during Manchester United’s 3-0 win over West Ham on Sunday February 4, after which Erik ten Hag admitted the issue could be “very bad” and was a “personal disaster”.

Martinez suffered the injury when tangling with Vladimir Coufal as he attempted to shield the ball out for a goal-kick in the second half at Old Trafford and was replaced shortly afterwards.

  1. As much as I want to see Martinez back asap. Let him recover properly and don't rush him back. His career is depending on a full recovery. Next time he injures himself he may not be lucky to be able to return to the game. And that would be far greater loss.

  2. Poor guy can't catch a break this season. He makes such a difference to the side when he's fit. We simply don't have another left footed centre back that can carry the ball like him. Shaw does a decent job at filling in but then you have to move Dalot over to LB and AWB comes in at RB, then Varane needs a rest and Maguire and Lindelof are back in……it's just a totally different side and not for the better. We have a decent starting 11 when the squad is fully fit but it only takes one or two injuries and all of a sudden the subs make us a much worse side. We have to follow the model so many clubs are taking now up and down the table where you have like for like replacements all over the pitch. Utd's squad is still full of far too many players that play the same positions but are totally different kinds of players. A lot of work for Ineos and the sporting director to do this summer

  3. When you think the problem of scoring is due to attacking side..Casemiro and Martinez played 2 games and we scored 7 goals..top class players!!!
Get well soon Lisandro!!!!! We need u SO much!!!!

  4. Wow they spent all season saying "wait until we get Martinez back" and he lasts about 4 minutes

Now hes out for most of the remaining matches, man United's comedy continues 😂

  5. It is highly recommended and a MUST for MANCHESTER UNITED management, board of directors, coaching staff, people working in their club who are involved on the transfer-market to permanently sell, do not offer loan with buy back clause, recall or return players that are currently on-loan by another football club to play for Manchester United, ageing (28 years old and above), inconsistent (limited playing time, unable to perform well) regardless of age, injury prone, those players who will turn 28 years old and above on 2027, players that are not comfortable playing in different position instead of their natural position, that must happen "ON OR BEFORE JULY 2027" and we are referring to Heaton (37), Evans (36), Eriksen (31), Carlos Henrique Casimiro (31), Maguire (30), Varane (30), Lindelof (29), Fernandes (29), Shaw (28), Martial (28), Onana (27), Amrabat (27), McTominay (27), Wan-Bissaka (26), Rashford (26), Van De Beek (26), Sancho (23), Antony (23), Pellistri (22), Mejbri (21), & Shoretire (19).

Our beloved club Manchester United should focus on acquiring and promoting rising young talents between 17 to 21 years of age. This can be found in Manchester United Academy, different team playing in premiere league, outside premiere league (La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Bundesliga), or outside Europe (MLS, AFCON, Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Argentine Super League, and other football league from other countries). This is to save a lot of money to renovate whole Old Trafford, pay debts to fully comply with Financial Fair Play, and eventually have a great amount of money to sign a superstar in Manchester United FC.
