  1. Crazy to see so many differing opinions regarding Jack in the comments! The best thing is how respectful everyone is being too! Such a top community! I feel Jack should have our 100% backing until the end of the season minimum. I wasn't comparing Jack vs Doku directly, player for player, but more comparing the types of players that are needed for the next phase in Pep's masterplan. Pep's clearly targeting aggressive wingers that have an emphasis on beating the full back and getting to the by-line. That just isn't Grealish's game. If that's the case and we do sign some speedster wingers, then I'd love Jack's role to be changed to a more central one, but is he getting ahead of KDB and Foden? Certainly not on current form. Then we've got a £100m player sat on the bench. For the sake of his own career as well – he's 28 and will demand more game time and who can blame him if he's not getting the minutes. It's a tough one! Cheers for watching blues!

  2. Mateo is gona fall of and jack is gona move up to midfield to the number 8 position has the skills to do it at number 8 has the engine control speed and finish and doku has injuries

  3. I'm open to changes, but would we have won a treble with the other names mentioned, instead of Jack? I doubt it (particularly the CL), and I prefer trophy involvements to goal involvements. Also, he's been played out of position since the day he came, but he's stuck to the task. I'm hoping Pep rethinks Jack's role.

  4. I’m not saying he’s a direct replacement but realistically Bernardo is gone in the summer, I feel like grealish could move into a more central role, he has great work rate, presses well, keeps the ball and moves it round well, keeps his head up and has good spacial awareness, I don’t see why he wouldn’t do well as a 10 or 8 given time, while also playing the occasional game out wide when needed. I just think if we sell him we’ll lose so much money on that transfer and end up having to bring in a play with a somewhat similar playing style. Just my opinion though, I’m no expert.

  5. jack will stay this is nonsense he will move position and play behind haaland mark my words if jack leaves haaland will soon follow you can't have cameraderie when your main players are leaving jack who is a main stay of the team his influence of and off the team is immense city can't let him go its quite simple

  6. When looking at the metrics to judge players effectiveness, I think you should also add free kicks won i.e fouls. Grealish doesn't finish as many dribbles because he gets fouled so much.

  7. Could be a long post this so grab a brew.

I don't think Grealish's doing bad at all this season, as mentioned he did have and injury and then there was that dry spell the whole team was suffering from, and there's still lots of the season to go. The way I see it is that Pep is playing 4D Chess and playing the long game here in terms of how players are being managed and their positions. Using Grealish as the example, we know he's a top class No 10 from his Villa days, he doesn't need to prove himself there, but his wing play was slightly lacking; however, that is now top class, this means that Pep has got options with Grealish, he can be played on the wings or down the middle.

A recent example of this is Big Phill Foden, he's been played on the wings for a long time, but we all know from his early days and his academy days that he's a down the middle guy, which is where's he's been moved to now; so again, a player with options (are you reading Southgate?). Bernie Silva is another example, he can play anywhere that fella, wings, middle, right/left back, give him half a chance he could do CDM or if he was a little taller, go in goal, cause Pep has played him in so many positions. It's all been about options from the midfield up for Pep, so that should things happen players can slip right in and not be out of position. As we've also seen recently Spiderman and Haaland have both dropped back a little to get that experience of the midfeild, probably why Haaland's numbers aren't quite up there this season (so far).

So is the threat of Savio coming in next season, and maybe Echeverri next January going to be a threat, I don't think so, it's all about options. Want proof that this a good thing, the trophy cabinet says yes.

  8. Unpopular opinion, but I don’t think Haaland suits Man City.

I think City play better with a False 9 personally.

I would sell Haaland, get a big fee and then go and get Paqueta and Wirtz and play with them.

  9. I personally think pep view's Grealish has a lot higher quality level of player then most of the general public does, if you dig into advanced stats- last year Grealish created the most opp in the league minus KDB. He has makes the pass before the assist, creates space for the attack and draws more fouls then anyone else in the prem. I think Grealish like most of pep's players *(KDB RODRI HAALAND & FODEN) pep uses each player as a specific tool. I don't think jack is going anywhere!

  10. He's at he wrong club with the wrong manager. As the main man, he's unplayable; as a cog in the machine, he's lost. Set him free and let him be the great player he really is

  11. Jack will play an important part in the Champions League matches. He was incredible in the game with Real Madrid. Ran his socks off. City still need Jack for sure.

  12. We need the full array of tools! I don’t think he will leave but I wouldn’t be surprised if the system of Manchester City isn’t tailored for SJG, and it doesn’t bend either… and heavy considerations on his own career have to be made, and decision to follow….

  13. Brother, your pedigree of communication is riveting as it is enchanting. I love hearing your poetic analysis and whippersnapper humor. Thank God you’re of one of us, and Thank God I’m one of you guys. CTID 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

  14. Johnny Johnny recycling junk… you"al got English Kelvin Phillips out to WH…now ya'all want English Jack Grealish out. Sooner City will be all foreign players … what a shame. . . Eliseo is no match to Grealish.

  15. Jack has something different to our squad, might not be everyone’s choice going forward but to solid it up he chases back better than anyone so much to give when chosen mainly for certain games

  16. Jack, doesn’t have the required speed to pass a full back, can’t head a ball can’t shoot a ball with power. A very nervous person too. Made so much money so early in his life has made him question why he puts up with the daily stress of playing for Man City. He needs to be sold and I think the City higher ups know this too.

  17. Only thing Jack is good at is drinking & partying while the others win the trophies. He's an average player at best … definitely not city quality. But then again …he's English 😅
