High risk high reward for NF ownership. Costly up front to get him, but they’ll sell some jerseys and increase American viewership. If Gio does well and helps keep them up then maybe he resigns there and it’s a profitable move for the club. Americans finding success in the EPL is good for ownership.
Not sure Gio had other options… He probably felt a change of scenery could do some good and felt he had a better opportunity for playing time at NF. It probably doesn’t hurt Gio’s value much if it doesn’t go super well. He can try to find a better long term fit in the offseason.

Personally I think he is the USA player with the most potential and the most gifted above Pulisic, so it is good for the national team to have players in the best league rather than running away from when they can’t hack it.
The end of this clip felt like propaganda stemming from the Berhalter-Reyna controversy.

Turner getting benched while onboarding renya is a bit unfortunate. Reyna won’t be able to survive the EPL , bad attitude, his sense of entitlement, and too fragile. Guy is gonna get a reality check.

Being able to play under pressure is what makes a good player elite. This is a high standard and if he can't hack the pressure then why would a 'bigger' club want him. Alot of disrespect for forest it seems especially from american pundits. Fair play for Reyna for making the move

Gio is insurance for when more Forest players get injured–which they will, given this is the EPL and it's a grind on bodies regardless of the player/team. But it's a bad fit, a terrible transfer for him. Say he gets to play. As soon as they see him they're just going to body him off the ball a few times and that will injure him as well as get under his skin. English fans think "bodying off the ball" sounds legal but the way it's refereed in England it's not. it's just hammering skill players until they break. Yellow cards aren't issued as often as they should, no Persistent Infringement, "afters" are normalized, it's just a bad environment for a 21 YO still maturing physically.. The best result for Gio is if he never plays this spring in the EPL, just training with people who speak English.

Not a great fit but excited to see what he can do. They’ll have a good attacking lineup so he’ll have chances to create against mid and bottom table teams. Hes the most talented player we’ve ever produced imo. Want to see him resume the upward trajectory he had before those injuries.
