After insisting Luka Modric would remain a Tottenham player, it appears that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy can no longer keep the Croatian from the clutches of Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old will fly out to Madrid for talks on Thursday as he seeks to conclude a dream deal following an unhappy last few months at White Hart Lane.
