  1. I would be completely surprised if this hasn't all been decided already. The club were discussing Summer transfers and next seasons pre-season tour details, back in November, when Klopp told them he wouldn't be here. There is no way the owners said, "Oh well we'll leave it to next June to see how things are then!"

  2. The track record of ex-players as managers with little experience at big clubs is against him, regardless of the job he’s currently doing.
It’s a much bigger risk than picking an actually experienced manager IMO.

  3. Xabis tactics are very innovative. He combines guardiolas strict positional play, mourinhos counter attacks, Benitez’ compactness in defence and ancelotti man management. His style is very unique and definitely helps Liverpool to go forward

  4. Not wanted. Xabi can stay put. Our fans need to stop thinking ex players have a God given right to be managers. Look at Gerrard. Pep Lijnders is the perfect choice, if he fails then either try to get Klopp in a year or see who looks the best choice. Alonso could be a one season wonder, he needs more experience.

  5. Liverpool is the perfect club for a manager who is doing great stuff but is inexperienced. Us fans have seen that giving time to a manager who we believe in brings sweet rewards, which doesn’t seem to happen at other clubs. I’m sure he will get that time

  6. I’m not sure about Alonso, hasn’t faced much adversity nor managed in the PL……. Liverpool is huge difference and shouldn’t experiment with Alonso….. five years down the line, fine

  7. @HessenUK Exactly. Alonso would be a huge mistake. Klopp had 14 years experience as a manager, Xabi has 14 months. He's also the exact opposite personality to Klopp, he's very dull. Anfield will be dead, even Klopp struggled to get it noisy Xabi would have no chance. He doesn't feel right at all.

  8. Im so glad that someone else thinks Eddie Howe is the man for the Job. As a Liverpool fan who moved to Newcastle (so watches the Toon just as much as Liverpool) I genuinely think he's a better pick than anyone else. He understudied Kloop too; like Alonso. The football he had Newcastle playing last season was breathtaking, and he knows the prem inside and out. IF, it happened my Goerdie bredren wouldnt be happy about it; at all.
