Netherlands look solid while being boring most of the time. That's a quality to have. Usa looked good. They need a proper 9 and better defensive display. 3 stupid goals tbh. That being said: it was a pretty good world cup performance.

We haven't seen the netherlands be behind in a game for a good good while. Confidence in our defence and being effective in the counter is all we've needed to show up untill now but remember that we can switch to a 4-3-3 at a moments notice, because all of these players were born and raised in that system. In other words no one really knows what we're really capable of. Including us.

To every opponent there is a different game plan. The Dutch were playing very well when OUT of possession (apart from a moment in the 2nd minute) and they had on occasion a very effective switch-a-roo (counter attack), but the Dutch football team and possession play (most of football history those two were synonyms) are not a happy couple. That usually means some control is missing on midfield and that's where Argentina could exploit an advantage. But the heart of Argentinean defence is slow and not very agile without Lisandro Martínez, so that's where these Dutch tactics applied against USA could become very effective.
It will be interesting to see whether both teams can make a step up in their development by Friday, but at this moment I favour The Netherlands as they look more solid as a whole, while Argentina depends very much on their GOAT; without him, it isn't that much they have to offer.
