Jim is so desperate for a headline move that he contradicts himself with the Arraez trade. Claims you need a big power bat at 1B in order to get maximum value from the position, but is still willing to stick Arraez there. Makes no sense. If he trade Kim, we're either targeting an outfielder or another pitcher. 1B most likely will be Belt or some low cost flier like Jared Walsh to will the position and hope a prospect fills it later on.

If they trade Kim I see an immediate response from the fan base in declines & canceling season ticket sales. This fan base can only take so much.
Salas had a sub.500 OPS after he was promoted out of Elsinore. John doesn’t see any way that he’s not in the big leagues in 2025? This is classic Padres hype. He might be great one day, but he hasn’t done anything yet to make you believe he’ll be a big leaguer next season.

Right after the Padres play in South Korea they (the Padres) have two more Spring Training games.
I personally think that the reason why Ha-Seong Kim being traded is up for possibility and consideration is to complete a roster that is as good as possible while also not going over the budget that the Padres organization has for the upcoming season.
