I don't want to pry in players personal lives too much but trippier has fell off a cliff ever since he came home from the England camp early due to personal reasons. There were rumours of an affair earlier in the year but I don't think anything ever came from a legitimate source. I think it hurts more as it's like 7 mistakes in few games and he was always a 7 out of 10 if not more. He didn't even look himself today,.looks slightly pasty. He needs to have a break out the side. At least a few games

I feel the thing is that the personal is intruding upon the professional with Trippier. His mind isn’t focussed. He came to us for very personal reasons, remember. He wanted his kids in a British school and he took the pay cut to join our project to make things work for his family. If things are going wrong in his personal life, it undermines the rock he bases his professional abilities upon. That’s deeply concerning because there’s nothing really that anyone, perhaps even Trippier himself, can do to resolve those kinds of issues. He’s a wonderful player but he’s worse to have on the pitch than off it right now.
Liam, I get what you guys are saying about bringing fresh legs on but at the end of the day that wasn't what cost us the win it was solely down to Tripps' error. We were never really under that much pressure, Chelsea had loads of the ball but didn't create much danger. One big error cost us the win. unfortunately
Excellent comments from all three journalists struggling through a major dissapointment but please take into account our ambitions have outstriped a revenue stream to match them in the short term. We have encountered a horrendous series of injuries, bad luck with Tonali's gambling ban and the need to use Hall who will take time to turn into a top lwb. As we improve revenue via sponsorship deals the squad depth will increase and allow players to rest and fully recover from injury. We have come a long way in two years and l reckon we need another two to compete with top six squads but it will certainly happen and then we can really begin to judge our club. nobody can say we deserved to win that game last night…we were deed on our feet from aboot 20 mins. Gordon was terrible from the first minute after that red card challenge right in front of the referee and linesman. The referee wasn't to blame for us going out but he was atrocious.

you can't judge eddie howe on this season, any manager with the injuries our squad has had would have struggled, beat PSG, Man City, Man U, Chelsea. Yes we have had some off games but the players we are using are playing to their best under real pressure. Trippier has been class give the guy a chance, everyone makes mistakes. We aren't on are a par with PSG or Dortmund yet squad size or experience. This tired excuse is crap it is simply a lack of options to change things
I think Trippier needs a rest and a holiday and support from everyone. Whatever is or isn't going on he is exceptionally good but he is being overplayed due to injuries. One game per week is his max and if he can do that he will remain solid for us for another couple of years. We honestly don't need this competition nor do we need the FA cup. Yes it would be great to get a cup but we will in a few seasons time. Focus on the league and build up the squad in Jan and again in the summer.

Ritchie instead of Lewis Hall is now laughable. Questions need to be asked directly to Howe. His game management is very very concerning
