Yamamoto didn't sign with the Giants because Korean jung ho lee signed ahead already, and beat Japan on the World Baseball Classic.
He mashed be Japan who had the best pitching by far at the wbc.
As talented as he might be it remains to be seen how well he will hit against against MLB pitching. He is also apparently a spray hitter. The Giants desperately need a couple of sluggers who can' hit the ball out of the park. At the moment they have nobody who can do that. Anyhow the Dodgers are likely to win practically every game they play this season both inside and outside their division what with all the expensive talent they have added. They are now loaded from top to bottom and will dominate. It's now the Dodgers and everyone else.
