Why are we painting him in this light when in reality all that happened is he broke the rules?
As a footballer you can bet on whatever you like as long as it's not football. To go out of your way to gamble on the one sport you can't bet on isn't because of a gambling addiction, it's because you think you have an advantage and more importantly because a lot of these players think they're untouchable and rules don't apply to them.
If he has/had a gambling problem, yes, absolutely get him the help and support he needs. But lets stop acting like this was some tragic event that happened to him, he bet on football, got a ban (with pay) and is now coming back.
Victim mentality, he needs to come to Liverpool.
