Its not really meant to be a stadium. This is just a friendly tournament held in Spain where select countries are invited. It's not supposed to be high-cost, so they just play on any field pretty much (that has decent conditions of course).
The US fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia," but only slightly less well-known is this: "always mark the defender at the top of the box on a corner or low free kick." That ball had eyes!
