  1. The common narrative is that he mismanaged a so-called golden generation. I mostly see players with inflated reputations and egos because they were familiar faces for Premier League viewers in particular, as a team they only look good in qualifiers. Going to be fun once Belgium go back to the days where even qualifying for the knockout stage of a competition was a feat. This is a nation that missed out on 3 consecutive Euro championships (1984, 88, 92) and then later failed to qualify for 5 successive competitions (2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012).

  2. As much as this guy sucks ass and has wasted Belgiums golden gen. It’s not entirely his fault. He was hired for a job and wasn’t let go after continuous disappointment. It wasn’t like he was gunna quit before. The people who hired him and kept him on are the ones who truly wasted it. Of course, they will go nameless and hide away.

  3. from Getting Wigan relegates to coaching a poor Everton team then straight to coaching one of the best national team in the world and one of the strongest golden generations… Don't know how he got that job but it completely wasted this era of talented players

  4. Belgium “Golden Generation”

    Euro 2012 (DNQ)- Unacceptable

WC 2014 (Lost To Arg)- Acceptable

Euro 2016 (Lose to Wales)- Unacceptable

World Cup 2018 (Lost to France eventual Champions)- Acceptable

Euro 2020(2021)- (lost to Italy eventual Champions)- Acceptable

World Cup 2022 (out in first round)- Unacceptable

So in 6 tournaments 3 Acceptable and 3 Unacceptable.

  5. Unfortunately for Belgium, this didn't happen before the tournament. One of the worst managers with one of the best group of talent.

  6. Belgium have blown their best chances they will ever get to win Euros, or the World Cup.

Belgium have had a brilliant Squad for years and with the right Manager, would have won silverware, or at least would have come closer than they have.

Martinez should never have been made Belgium Manager in the first place, it was wasting Belgium talent.

He has made so many terrible tactical and Team choices, it would take us all day to point them all out.

    Resign?

He should be put up against a wall and shot.
