Gregg Berhalter’s USMNT lose 2-1 to Trinidad and Tobago away after Sergino Dest was sent off for petulant behavior. The lack of fight and ideas from 10-man USA was stunning and disappointing. Tac and I break it down.
Berhalter hasn’t won away since August 2021 when he beat Honduras 4-2 in World Cup qualifying.

If Dest is suspended for the semifinal match this will be the second time in a row he was suspended from a final four Nations League match for acting selfishly. Dest should be replaced. He's already a defensive liability, and now he's shown repeatedly that he cannot put the team above his feelings. This is worse than Reyna going half speed at practice because he was disappointed he wasn't going to get to play at WC. They need to find an alternative to Dest.
Send Greggggg and Dest as far away from USMNT as they can get. We have the best roster of talent we've EVER had with the worst possible man to coach them to success.

19:05 bruh compared to the USMNT, Switzerland has a world class team. In almost every position the USMNT starter would only be 2nd or even 3rd option. The only positions and players that would start in a usa/switzerland mixup from the USMNT are pulisic and dest because these are the only positions where switzerland doesn’t have a better player.
Pete mentioned this in the video, but i agree Dest should be made to apologize to the team like they made Gio do.

I'd like to say thank you to you both, I'm English but have a few American friends that follow the USMNT, and you guys seem to mostly give the unfiltered truth (unlike Alexi Lalas for example) I'd just like to say thanks for helping me to be able to talk to my US friends about things to do with the USMNT….P.S I agree with you about Southgate, he sucks
This was an absolute disaster. I don't think there is a single player on their team who would make our roster. Red card or not losing to T&T is unacceptable. We should have been 2 or 3 goals up by that point. As far as taking Gio off I don't think it matters that he was a preplanned halftime sub. They are allowed 5 subs abd GGG only used 2. He needed to do more, he seems incapable of making big choices. He is so afraid of making the wrong choice that he doesn't make any choice at all.
Berhalter should thank Dest. Now he has an excuse for why the team looked so horrible.

"Disaster Game", Pete? How about disastrous window. Not to mention another window under Gregg with disastrous performances from all involved. The Dest deal is obviously stupid and unacceptable. But the ineptitude of Greggs handling of this team is a complete head shaker. Experiment #1 ended in misery and a quick world Cup out. Experiment #2, fizzling out to a big failure with pathetic performances.

I did tell you there is no way turner starts over vlachodimos. The manager was just waiting for turner to have a bad game to justify benching him permanently. But these comments section told me turner is going to start 😂
Terrible performance over all. Individually, not a perfect game by no stretch of the imagination, but I thought Musah was the best player on the pitch for the US, mostly for his defensive work. When T& T scored their 2nd goal, there was a real threat that things would unravel. Musah did a great job of disrupting their attack in the middle fo field the last 30 minutes. Turner absolutely sucks, open up the job to competition.

USMNT Fans, Nothing will change until we form a USMNT Fan Association. With this tool we can pressure USSF to find a competent Head Coach! We could even lobby for voting seats to elect the next USSF President! USMNT Fans, IMO, Spain, Brazil, Germany are great soccer powers because the Fans Demand Success!

This comes down to the team being woefully mentally unprepared. Mental errors, lack of imagination and/or creativity. Lack of any desire to do anything more than the minimum. Gregg has no ideas left. The USSF wanted him and they spent months creating cover for themselves to do just that. It is pathetic. This program will not be what it could be as long as USSF is still in charge. I'm done. I still like the players and will follow the players club careers, but I am done with the USSF and their products.

Taking off Reyna instead of Aaronson was the biggest mistake Berhalter made and he cost us the game unfortunately
We lost to Germany(even with home field advantage) and they have looked really bad of late- losing to Austria and Turkey, tying a weak Mexican side. Their only Win the past two international cycles has been the USA. Makes me have lower hope for the USMNT team at the moment. And that Greg needs to fuckin go. And Ghana, just look at their latest result(lost to Comoros!). Greg and USMNT have not played good competition of late which just hurts us badly
I know the 2 of you have talked before about how every nation has a "style" and "a way they play". The US does have a style and a way we play. We play with a sense of respect and dignity toward the opponent and the officials. I do not remember any time in our recent history (94 and beyond) where a player was given a red card for the blatant arrogance and pride demonstrated toward and official. That is not how a USMNT player should act. Dest may have talent, but We play with Scally, or a lineup that minimizes the impact of Dest missing, for the next several matches or we have lost our "Style" as a country! Shameful!!

Sergino very likely has some mental health issues and needs help, and I don't mean that in the usual sarcastic way. This is ongoing. It's really not a whole lot different than Luis Suarez's biting problem. He got help, and went on to be fine.
But what the rest of the team did after he was sent off is not on him. The players themselves need to take responsibility for falling apart, sure.
But as everyone knows… and says… Grggy is the real problem.
