  1. Todd was a good fighter that I beat in his professional career. I did it by comping up in weight to fight him where he was. He is still a godd fighter in my mind, but it showed me the ugly side of boxing, the politics.

  2. Because there were so many entrants in the 1988 Seoul boxing tournament, two rings were used simultaneously until the quarter-finals. To avoid confusion, the end of a round was announced by a bell in Ring A and a buzzer in Ring B. The system did not work perfectly, leading to a bizarre incident in the light-welterweight bout between Todd Foster of the United States and Chun Jin-Chul of South Korea.
The bout was held in Ring B, and with 17 seconds left in Round One, the bell sounded in Ring A. In Ring B Foster, and Hungarian referee Sandor Pajar, hesitated for a moment. Chun dropped his hands and took a step towards his corner. The referee called "Stop". Foster, realising that Chun and the referee had made a mistake, hit Chun with a left hook that caught the Korean in the eye. Chun looked to his corner, and then collapsed to the canvas, pretending to be knocked down in an attempt to have Foster disqualified for a late blow. Pajar began to count Chun out, but stopped the count at four and walked over to the judges for a consultation. Jury president Emil Jetchev called the bout a no-contest and ordered a rematch. Two and half hours later, the fight began again, with Foster knocking out Chun in the second round.
