Newcastle are reportedly on the verge of signing Australian wonderkid Garang Kuol.
The 18-year-old only made his international debut over the weekend, but is being billed as the next big thing Down Under.
Toon chiefs have made it a priority to sign some of the world’s best young talents through an extensive scouting network, according to Sky Sports.
And teenage prodigy Kuol is reported to be on Newcastle’s wishlist.
The club are claimed to be close to finalising a deal to bring Kuol to Tyneside from Aussie club Central Coast Mariners.
That’s despite interest in the young striker from German giants Borussia Dortmund.
The Bundesliga club have a reputation for signing young talents and turning them into world class stars.
But it’s Newcastle who are close to signing the teenage sensation.
Kuol has scored an impressive four goals in nine league games for Central Coast Mariners.
His form saw him earn a maiden Australia call-up this month.
Kuol came off the bench for a 17 minute cameo in Sunday’s 2-0 win over New Zealand, becoming the sixth youngest player in Socceroos history.
But Kuol isn’t Toon’s only transfer target.
Howe is reportedly lining up SIX potential January incomings as he looks to propel his squad towards a challenge for Europe.
How highly do you rate Garang Kuol?

He's really inexperienced, but I feel as though Australia need this guy at the World Cup. He brings a bit of a spark that we're lacking most of the time.
This is a very good player, even though he is still very young but later bought and brought to Newcastle United, Eddie Howe and the team were injured, sorry, I don't know what Eddie Howe and the team did, so 8 core players were injured, for example Alexander Isak, appeared 131, goals 44, assists 8 defended Real Sociedad, meaning he was fine for 2-3 years there, but just over a month at Newcastle United, immediately injured.
Eddie Howe must be responsible for all this, and management must investigate this, it's useless to buy expensive players, if the coaching method are old and rusty, leaving players vulnerable to injury. .
Looks average
this guy gonna shock the world give him 1 loan for 6 months and then he'll be recalled and starting for Newcastle he literally teared up Barcelona in a friendly and was getting multiple shots and running through thier defence like their bums verse a almost full strength barcelona defence he has lighting quick pace and creates space up front to score but is also not afraid to set teammates up and he is a super humble kid in his debut for Australia he ran through a New Zealand defence of Winsten Reid Ex premier league regular and some other European level defenders with his lightning pace and earned his team a pen
Moukoko is better
He looks good , however he looks like he lacks in the final third which is what we are currently struggling with so I canβt see this man being the help we need imo π€·ββοΈ
He'll get loaned out..then when it's time to come back to the toon….he'll be like…..well a kinda like it here to be honest……
How did he slip through the Australian border? πππ π
maximin and this kid…..holy fuck.
What a Waste of money just below average i give it like 4/10 and that's been generous . need to play 2 or 3 years in different European league's and also championship , but newcastle need to sign European proven Young and experience players
i remember playing against him and his brother at GV a few years back. theyre both absolutely insane and will reach the top
Man us glory years came from its academy. Nufc building the right way.
His decision in the final third is poor.
Needs to be loaned to Salzburg, dortmund or Leipzig and he will be big!
The one to watch at this 2022 World Cup
