He is also part of the Belgium National Team and he received his first call up for his debut in November 2020 as a substitute in a loss against Switzerland. Previously, he had played in the Belgium U16 in 2017, U17 in 2018, U19 in 2019, U21 in 2020. And in 2022, Charles De Ketelaere has 4 caps for Belgium so far. His current market valuation is 30 million euros. Transfer news is that AC Milan and Leeds are interested in signing him. Charles De Ketelaere only wants to transfer to AC Milan and the deal is expected to be completed this week.
His position is midfield where he can play at the centre, left or right. He can also play as a forward. His preferred foot is left.

In this video, I am going to do a player analysis of Charles De Ketelaere.

If we look at the heatmap of the last 2 seasons, it’s clear that De Ketelaere hovers toward wings, left and right.
A few charts to compare the young Belgian to players in similar role.
For attacking stats, he falls around the median of the league. There are no stats that really stick out, putting him on average in Belgium First Division.
As an attacking midfielder, he stands out for dribbles and crosses.
De Ketelaere has good stats for smart passes, and passes to the penalty area.
For defensive stats, he is good for interceptions.

🚨 Charles De Ketelaere is a young talented player. His main qualities are dribbles and key passes. He likes to run into spaces with the ball. However, I have two doubts about his playing style. First, he needs to learn to spend more time as central attacking midfielder. He tends to run into wings, left or right. The risk is to occupy the same place as Rafael Leao, on the left wing, or Junior Messias, on the right. The second thing that needs to improve, is to distribute the ball quicker. He is inclined to wait a second or two before passing the ball into the area, making easier for the defender to read his intentions. Serie A is more challenging than Belgium First Division, he has the potential to become a key player for A.C. Milan.
