  1. Havertz has to do the simple things right. In the games at LCM he rarely looked to offer himself in between the lines doesn’t seem comfortable when the opposition are around him. Last game was encouraging where he crashed late in the box. Arteta wants him a LCM, that’s Havertz position to win. Havertz has to offer himself more and either dribble or pass to advance and crash late in the box. Realistically that something he should be able to do but I wonder the fact he surrounded by opposition, he finds this difficult. If he can’t win that LCM position I don’t see a future for him at Arsenal.

  2. I wish you dove into his defensive stats as well. He has done a fantastic job in that sense for the team, and he should be praised for that side of the game too

  3. Ngl from the little i saw of him at Chelsea last season I think he has been alot better under Arteta.. He had 2 very poor games starting out with Arsenal but i've watched him more closely off the ball since then and I think he backtracks so much better than Xhaka did and his movement and passing has been great… Nowhere near hit his potential yet but I think as time goes on this could become a very interesting signing by us in that none of us know what his best position is but he's working hard and with a bit more confidence I think we could see that player he was at Leverkusen eventually.

  4. Simple solution, swap odegaard and havertz in the cm roles, ask ode to take a bit more defensive responsibility and link play deeper and let havertz cause havoc with runs underlapping Saka to take the double teams away from him

  5. Arsenal getting a real #9 will help unlock Kai Havertz as well. Some of his best highlights at Leverkusen came from 1-2 link ups with the striker and also playing forward passes for the striker to run on to. Once his confidence is back 100% we might see him command the left side of the field with Martinelli while Odegaard can handle the right with Saka.

  6. I suppose Havertz is going to be a clutch moment player a lot more going forward. If the OG lineup doesn’t work, and Saka/Martinelli double and triple teamed, Arteta can always sacrifice either Trossard or Jesus or both, and bring in Havertz to play as a second striker to either, or Nketiah. It would vex opponents if used at opportune moments.

    Good breakdown, mate. Very precise.

  7. In preseason Odegaard was playing deeper and made brilliant through passes and switches to Martinelli only for Arteta to move him higher and play Partey as an inverted right back, play Havertz in a double pivot and bench Gabriel. Since then Arsenal looked lost.
Even Trossard had a good game against Barca in preseason as LCM but it has taken almost 4 months for Arteta to play him there again.
