They beat Slovakia, who had previously knocked Italy out of the World Cup to reach the knockout stages, which included a 4-0 win away, but they got robbed in the final match against Republic of Ireland, which cost them the playoff spots
If the European Championship had 24 teams starting in 2012, then it will be a different story for Estonia, Montenegro, and even Armenia, who can qualify through the playoffs!
