Weโve got a big boy for you this week! Premier League champion, FA Cup winner and Denmark legend, Kasper Schmeichel!
Kasper is a great speaker and had us hooked as he told us about his incredible football career, which saw him drop down from Premier League to League 2 and then rise back to the very top of the football world!
Kasper told us about the day Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch in the Euros and explained what an impact it had on the Danish squad.
Kasper Schmeichel – Premier League legend & top man!

The Schmeichels : Only father-son duo to win the PL.
So So Fascinating !!!
I hope the GK round table becomes a reality and such content is pushed up. Woul massively like to see it. @Fozacast kindly sort it out.๐ฏ
Wow. What a podcast. Still devastated that City let Kasper go. Incredible goalie, top bloke.
30:40 shoutout to darlington
Why United didn't go for him this summer, I'll never understand. Imagine the hipe: Schmeichel returning to Old Trafford. Great goalie as well.
My mate played for Nigel at Leicester and he echoed everything said about Nigel in this podcast. He also played alongside Kasper and he said Kasper was a top man.
22:52 Flashbacks of Ben shouting KIKO
given my fair share of abuse to keepers over the years. you've got one job so just do it

You having a Nice time in Nice
As an inspiring football coach, still learning my craft at the West Ham academy I loved this podcast. Kaspers so well spoken and could make the deep depths of the game make sense to anyone. Great listen – also love the fact he brought in a miltary for psychology ๐คฃ
Please do a fox cast with de gea.
Heโs an amazing goalkeeper Iโd love to hear from him alongside you!
I genuinely like this series of podcasts but for god's sake lads, a little perspective wouldn't go amiss. You literally try to stop a piece of leather going in the net. A surgeon holds a life in his hands multiple times a week. Responsibility and pressure…have a word. On another podcast, Ben talked about the routine of work. Start time 11 o'clock but you could be fined if you were not in before 10!!!! What hardship. I'll shed a tear as i go to work at 6.30am everyday for a yearly salary you earn in a week. Rant over, love some of the detail but chill out on pressure and Responsibility.
Damn I miss Kasper ๐
Conrad Logan, Hibs Legend!
What a great pod. Matt Turner conceded in his first game for Arsenal and he got the blame. all pundits were going nuts and saying Arsenal made a mistake. Yet there was no angle shown and the ball moved like crazy. We always get the blame. Big up the keepers union.
Just came across this randomly and ended up watching the whole (and wanting more at the end). Really well made and Kasper comes across as such an likeable (and well-informed) lad.
You have to love goalkeepers but if they trained with strikers everyday their confidence would be shot through the floor
As Leicester fan absolutely loved this pod, sad heโs not in the prem anymore, true legend ๐
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AjcFfBvIcs Does this challenge the norm on keeping the ball in hand?
This is inspirational, didn't realise the journey he'd been on, what a man.
As a fellow dane, iโm massively proud we got Kasper. To be able to grow up seeing Peter for my United team, and then be able to follow Kasper for Leicester and obviously for Denmark, makes me one proud Dane. Absolutely loved this episode. Brilliant. Cheers
Mate, I love the goalkeeper chat that you get on this podcast. Amazing stuff.
This is a great pod.
What a story!๐๐ป
Shout out to all the Bury lads who remember the kid that came for a year with a legendary name and almost carried us to League one.
John Ruddy would talk to the strikers about where they should shoot. He was brilliant at Wolves.
Still on catch up guys another great conversation ๐
Still listen to this from time to time, absolute class. One of the best pods Iโve listened to hands down
What a story. What a story teller. What a Leader, what a Keeper, what a Man…. whose DM's will surely be unslide-proof from the future approaches of Deadpool Reynolds and Super Rob MacceeDeepleez, to talk planes while sipping gin and dreaming plans to lead a club to Champions League success. 5 to 20 year plan. With the first goalkeeper-player/Manager and winner of a Premier League trophy, leading the club into Europe and ultimate UCL success. Fozzy – get some odds and put something on it, if you haven't already sold R and R on the idea!
Great pod from a intelligent and articulate guest. ๐๐ป๐๐ป
servant leaders, shows how he understands how teams work at their best class
I remember years ago when he was coming through at City thinking to myself is he only playing due to his dad was and after watching him pre matches training and when he played for us you could see instantly he was there on merit and was going to be a great keeper and he's definitely one of the premier league's best ever keepers 2 Schmeichels make that list ๐
Such a legend for the national teamโค
Leicester have sure missed him.
Came here to watch this episode again & what a banger of an episode. Ben, youโre a legend and hope this podcast keeps growing.
Goalkeeper is a hard position because when the ball goes by you, everyone criticizes you and not the defense. Also people who never played the position donโt understand that you can lose sight of the ball because of all the people on the pitch.
I wonder if Kasper is or was a United fan, his dad a UTD legend
If Leicester didnโt let him leave they would not be back in the championship by now. Facts.
My favorite analogy for a goalie is from Peter ฤek he said be a good goalie is like being a good drummer just keep it steady or as Kasper said be reliable and responsible
Goalkeeping circle jerk ๐๐
That aside great podcast!
He'll be a great pundit he's down to earth which is actually surprising given his background. He seems a much more pleasant and chatty guy than his dad!
Fat lad in the middle needed a snickers for the last 40 mins, nearly falling asleep ๐๐๐๐
