Southgate had the players to actually WIN. all he's achieved is dropping their rating in Europe. Imagine having a manager who actually won when he should win. structure legacy young players Simon is right what a load of cobblers. Get a manager who can have these group of players reach their OBVIOUS potential
England experiencing the “Ole effect”. United should have sacked Ole and got a better manager in the summer of 2021. Instead the talk was about how he did well to finish behind City.
Southgate has done well in the context of England being perennial strugglers. But go look at most of the exists in the past in “early” rounds it was due to playing harder teams. If England play South Korea instead of Brazil in 2002, they probably get to the semis just like 2018.
Robson-Kanu is talking shite. You hire a manager to win now, other nations might be planning for the future like Iran and Saudi Arabia but we'll deal with the future when it comes but WE ARE ENGLAND and want to win the world cup. We're at the world cup and IT's ABOUT THE HEER AND NOW.

If the FA had employed Mourinho just before the Euro finals and he had won that trophy, but left "a trail of destruction" behind him immediately afterward, well that would have been a greater achievement than what Gareth Southgate has achieved with England to date. Listening to Jordan you would be forgiven for thinking that he owned Manchester United during Ferguson's tenure – rather than Crystal Palace, where he went through a conga-line of managers and had no success.

TBF I don't even believe Robson-Kanu believes what he's saying. Trail of destruction? implementing a level of longevity? Can you see into the future? There's no guaranteed that Gareth will leave a healthy legacy. What we have at the moment is a team that has got to final stages of a few recent tournaments by lucky draws and beating teams they should be beating. We are still riddled by the age-old affliction of poor ball retention, lack of progressive play, identity, and tactical nous. Against the bigger sides and even against so-called inferior ones (case in point USA) we're like a band with no plan and often playing no tunes. Tell it the way it is, Gareth has done 'OK', however he's barely on par and no way near 'over-achievement'. Plenty of room to improve.

The reality of the story is this, England needs to stop comparing itself to Successful countries like France, Spain & Germany! English coaches are subpar, no english coach has won the League in England or CL in almost 30years.
These countries have elite coaches who manage them!
Spains golden years where Coached by Del Bosque, the guy was a successful footballer, won the CL 2times as a manager with Madrid! Elite!
France have Deschamps, a world cup winner, champions league winner, as player, and also Managed Monaco and tool them to the CL final in 2004!
In 2006 italy had the legendary Juve manager, Marcelo Lippi, an elite coach.
Jurgen Low had Hansi Flick as his Assistant, we know what flick did with Bayern!
