Hecky talks about injuries as if these were a finite number, due to correct over time. In reality we have seen a continuous (dis)assembly line which, in the absence of remedial action to identify critical problems will no doubt persist throughout this and future seasons. To what extent this problem is common to all clubs remains a moot point. I suspect that a losing mentality and low morale will not encourage players to declare themselves ready for action. What we have learned this season is that the PL is not the place for young, untried recruits. To echo Hecky we just hope that our ship has not already sailed.
