Heading into his first FIFA World Cup, USMNT and Lille star Tim Weah talks tournament hopes, off field interests and the importance of happiness.

As the son of one of the best players to ever play the game, it’s a surprise that Tim Weah attributes his earliest memory of the sport to his mother, who was his first coach, growing up in New York City.

Far from those intramural kickarounds, he is now following in the footsteps of his dad by carving out a name for himself in the ultra competitive European leagues. With spells at Paris Saint-Germain and Celtic FC under his belt, he is now back in Ligue 1 with LOSC Lille.
