Jonny Williams gave an emotional interview to Palace TV after his move to Charlton Athletic confirmed an end to his 17 year stay with the Eagles.

The Welshman joined the Eagles aged eight, progressing through the ranks to make his full debut in August 2011 against Coventry City. He would feature regularly for the Eagles as they clinched promotion to the Premier League in 2012/13 with Williams starting the play-off final against Watford, as well as also being named the club’s Young Player of the Year and winning his first full international cap that campaign.

Williams signed a new deal with Palace in the summer of 2017 to extend his lengthy association with the club, and would end up playing 70 times for the club, scoring once.

Everyone at Crystal Palace Football Club thanks Jonny for his contribution, and wishes him all the very best of luck for his future.

  1. I met him once, such a lovely bloke. Watched him since he first played for us and always knew he was a special player. Means so much to Palace and Palace means so much to him. Just a shame things didn’t work out. He has so much potential. Thank you Johnny for everything and good luck in the future.

  2. Met Jonny probably the most out of any player so unlike puncheon I’m genuinely tearing up him leaving probably the most technical player we have and him and Wayne the most down to earth so my point is piss off puncheon and a very sad goodbye to Joniesta

  3. Fair well Jonny and thank you for you’re efforts in the red and blue of palace. Hope the the next chapter in you’re playing is injury free and successful.

  4. Gutted he's gone but it's for the best. Hoped Roy would find a way to use him as a sub/rotation player but sadly I guess not. All the best to him shame he's gone Charlton though lol.
