  1. Bernardo and Pep have exactly the same understanding of football reason why he doesn't let him go, is much more than just a Man City footballer, he is part of city's identity but not just him David Silva, Gundo, Rodri, Foden, Kevin and so on. The difference is that Bernardo is as important inside of the pitch as outside. Bernardo can only leave city to come back home, Benfica. He is a truly an example like Pep said, is not flashy but is an all time great!

  2. Bernardo is so unique, everyone knows how good he is but he'll never make any top lists based on his stats which is a shame because after players retire people tend to focus on assists and goals forgetting all the nuance of what makes a player great. He was already exceptional on the ball when City signed him but the way he's developed the rest of his game under Pep is something I doubt many people saw on the cards. When people call players good all rounders, it tends to be because they aren't exceptional at any one thing and not considered world class(Milner is a good example who rated very highly) but Bernardo is the exception to that, he's every bit world class. What a player and what a guy he is. 💙

  3. Bernardo hasn't been shown huge interest from other top clubs in Europe, despite him showing some willing to try a new challenge in a warmer climate(he's from sunny Portugal and he misses the sunshine I understand it but he's stuck it out and gave his all, you can't knock that). Any offers that have been made were well under City's valuation(which is actually very reasonable), showing perhaps only City recognise his true value. I know he had always planned to play for Barca before moving back to Benfica before retirement but I don't get the feeling he would be appreciated to the level he deserves anywhere else(bar Benfica of course). He should just stay as long as he wants to remain at the top level with City and go straight to Benfica after that IMO.
