Jonas Hofmann (German Jonas Hofmann; July 14, 1992, Heidelberg) is a German footballer, midfielder of the Borussia Club (Mönchengladbach).

He started playing football in 1998 at the football club Rot in the municipality of St. Leon-Rot and stayed there until the 2003/04 season, after which he went to the football academy “Hoffenheim”. In April 2011 he made his debut for the reserve squad of the club, and at the end of the season took part in five base matches and scored two goals.

Before the start of the 2011/12 season, he signed a contract with Borussia until June 30, 2015. The first year he played for the second team. On 6 August he made his debut in the match against Kaiserslautern and immediately scored his first goal, and on 10 September he scored a “double” against Schalke 04.

On December 16, 2012, in a match against his hometown club Hoffenheim, he made his debut for Dortmund in the Bundesliga, replacing Mario Götze at the end of the match. In his first season, he played three matches and became a Champions League finalist, won silver medals in the Bundesliga and won the German Super Cup. On 18 August 2013, in a duel against Eintracht Braunschweig, Hofmann scored his first goal for Borussia.

In the summer of 2014, Jonas transferred to Mainz 05 on loan to obtain gaming practice. On 13 September, in a match against Hertha, he made his debut for the new club. Hofmann scored his first goal for Mainz on 24 September against Eintracht Frankfurt. After the end of the lease, Jonas returned to Dortmund. On July 30, in the Europa League qualifying match against Austrian Wolfsberg, Hofmann scored a goal.

In early 2016, Hofmann moved to Borussia from Mönchengladbach in search of playing practice, signing a contract until 2020. On January 23, in a match against his former club Borussia Dortmund, he made his debut for the new team, replacing Mahmoud Daoud in the second half. On 25 August, in a match against Bayer 04, Jonas scored his first goal for Borussia. In April 2019, Hofmann extended his contract with Borussia until 2023.
