FOX Sports’ lead college football analyst Joel Klatt breaks down the Top-10 defensive battle in Columbus as Ohio State beat Penn State thanks, in large part, to Marvin Harrison Jr. Klatt points out what Ryan Day did to ensure he gave his team the best chance to win and where Penn State’s coaching staff will have regrets. In a week where Michigan found itself in a sign-stealing investigation and several other Top 10 teams had to fight off upsets, the Wolverines continued to roll. Joel breaks down how Jim Harbaugh has built his group into the most consistently dominant team in the nation. He then discusses Alabama’s big comeback and what it means for the SEC race. Klatt wraps up by discussing the thriller in the Coliseum as Utah continued its success against USC and why he is so impressed with what the Utes are doing.

-Michigan vs Michigan State: 19:45-29:23

  1. Joel, with Ohio State's victory over Penn State, Ohio State has started the season facing and beating 6 undefeated teams (Indiana, Youngstown St, Western KY, Notre Dame, Maryland, and now Penn State). I believe the last time Ohio State ever did anything close to this was 1940, starting the season facing and beating 4 undefeated teams. If Ohio State wins outright, they could potentially face an undefeated Michigan and two other undefeated teams in the playoff — potentially facing and beating 9 undefeated teams in a single season.

In college football, what's the NCAA record for facing and beating the most undefeated teams in a single season? By what team, what year, and how many undefeated teams did the team beat?

  2. Joel klatt Has his tongue so far up Ohio State’s behind. Total bias, just listen to any OSU game he calls. Would not be surprised if Klatt is wearing an OSU jersey in the booth.

  3. The game is dying and people have to call it out and talk about it. The ad breaks are too intrusive and make this running-clock version of college football unwatchable. We need to go back to the clock stopping on first downs and just not bloat the broadcast with 2 extra hours of ads. It was barely a watchable product before and now shortening it by giving us less football and keeping the ads the same has ruined college football entirely for me. Please advocate for the fans and the game Joel and talk about this.

  4. Penn State fan here. Joel, you're right on. I couldn't watch this game, because I knew what was coming and didn't want to get too mad. However, a comment in all of PSU articles I read this season said to keep calling plays until the other team can't stop. My take is, in spite of their rushing yards weren't great, they had kept the chains moving with their running game which they didn't keep on. They needed to keep hammering the ball, and they stopped that. The fact that Singleton went off on a 26 yard run, they should have kept going to what are they're strengths. As well as their tight-ends…

The team (coaching staff) needs to elevate by coaching the team like teachers in a classroom. Elevate the players by making them successful.

  5. How is the touchdown at 6:00 not offensive pass interference. That’s an illegal pick play. The receiver doesn’t even look back at the qb. He sees the lb watching Marvin and he runs into him, and proceeds to look at Marvin to see if he’s open. He doesn’t even look for a throw.

  6. Trevor Hoffman, 98 fast ball to 85 or 88 change up. Almost impossible to hit except by his teammate Tony Guinn. I was fortunate enough to have seen them play for many years.

  7. Klatt shut up!!! They are also built on electric recording devices and it is way worse than you think when it comes out!!!! Harbough is already nervous and thinking about his fastest way to deny and take an NFL job!!!!!! Cameras 📷 are reliable apparently!!!!

  8. OSU is going to get credit for a top 10 win against a truly hapless PSU. That is a disgrace – in no world or reality is PSU a Top 10 team. The Big 10 has 2 teams. PSU will lose big to Michigan and beat the rest… The Big 10 is worse than the ACC this year.

  9. Huge props to Kyle Whittingham & Utah! For going on the road & beating USC with their 3rd string QB, and a former safety at running back. Go UTES!!!
