  1. Gallagher of course…but Phillips? Are U mad? The guy is about as good as harry winks/Oliver skipp and equivalent to Gallagher's dirty socks.

We might as well start playing Eric Dier. To think we cldve had Sangare for 20m 🤦‍♂️

  2. Skipp is a great player, he just isn't suited to this system because his strength isn't technical passing, it's the skills associated with a conventional 6. Gallagher for Skipp would make sense for sure.

  3. Even though I believe Chelsea will never sell a player they think will strengthen our team I dont think Gallagher is not better than Papa Sarr , Gallagher is not even better than Hojbjerg on the ball and I would not even play him in a six because you need to be good on the half turn and be press resistant in Ange's system, Gallagher is nothing more than a pigeon chaser.

  4. Philips is worth a punt for me. Talented just not working out at City. He would give us an ability to move play left and right with long passes

  5. For a start Chelsea won't sell Gallagher and even if they did we don't need him,he covers every blade of grass but doesn't know his best position so no as for Philips he's an average no 6 who hasn't a creative bone in his body,so Ange would be making a huge mistake

  6. Like lots of other people have said. Can't see either wanting to swap their bench for ours (especially as CG is starting at the moment). And especially with us not having mid week football

  7. If Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp leaving with one player coming in, ie Connor Gallagher.
The question is whether or not squad will be big enough and deep enough to play two games a week and still make top4?

  8. Common Ange must want better than these 2… Callagher is ok at best and Phillips would better but every time you look he has some sort of injury! ….please please send Skip away he is clearly below premier league level.. nothing personal!

  9. Sean, I had a discussion a week ago with some other Spurs fans about our next step. I think the problem in the past has been that we have settle for some players. I think talking to friends is that we are starting to once again settle for some of the squad. Namely Maddison, Bissouma, Odogie, Van de Ven and others. I hear your argument for getting in Gallagher/Phillips but my argument would be why buy players for the bench. Why not buy better than what we have or try to buy better. Under Poch it was always said we couldn’t get better than what we had (front 4). So the competition for places was non-existent and the team just became soft. I say try and be more ambitious this time round and get a better Maddison, Bissouma etc. It would make for a stronger squad. Also I understand that we need to upgrade in other positions. If you had to find better who would you go for? We had a great time looking at players.

  10. Selling Skipp is an issue. Assuming we get European football next year, we're gonna need 4 academy products in our senior squad, otherwise we weaken ourselves numerically and will find it more difficult to absorb the demands of competing in 4 competitions. We're already short on that front (with Harry gone and Japhet out on loan). I don't see Skipp going anywhere just now. Maybe the season after next, and that assumes that Scarlett, Devine, Phillips, Soonsup-Bell, Dorrington etc are ready for 1st team football at that point – which isn't guaranteed.

  11. We won't let Skipp go. Far more pressing issues and he's still young and already have enough trouble with the home grown quota.

  12. I don’t think Skipp will get to the level needed but he’ll do a job next couple seasons while we build squad and until homegrown quota fully resolved he helps out in that area as well as back up – so I’d sell in couple windows time not jan or summer

  13. My transfer list will look smth like this :
    – in Jan : Andersen, Kalvin Phillips/Vermeeren, Jota
    – in summer : Kobel, Kilman/Lloyd Kelly, Kalvin Phillips/Vermeeren, Eze, Santiago Gimenez
