  1. I hear you Steve, but for me I think phil foden is just way too good in so many different positions on the pitch it would almost be wasteful to limit him to just one. Playing him as a roamer would get the best out of him imo. But pep probably isn’t going to do that haha. Just my 2 cents haha. #coyg

  2. Obviously Pep wanted Alvarez to fill KDB boots. Foden has been played in a different position nearly every game whilst Alverez is playing 10 every game.

  3. Pep actually said the other day that he sees Phil as in the Rodri position. But he's not old enough yet. That's why he plays him all over, cause it gives him an insight into the positions of those ahead of him

  4. Lets be real..foden is above average at every position and thats it. He isnt amazing at anything. He is becoming the most overated english player.

  5. Alvarez is perfect Gundo replacement for me, but Foden is still raw to replace Kev as CM, this is why Pep can't play 3-2-4-1 again like last season

Then, Pep changed to play 4-2-3-1 because Kev was injured, but this formation will be useless if Rodri didn't play. He is the important key to this 4-2-3-1 formation. Lewis? Kova? Nunes? They're still not good enough. Stones? he is just came back from injured and he's not a pure midfielder. Absolutely, we lost 3 in a row because of Rodri.

My conclusion is, at the end Pep only depends on Rodri and Kev for the creativity on the team. And for me Alvarez is a goalscorer like Gundo not a playmaker like Rodri and Kev. So, our offensive quality this season is DOWNGRADING from last season, that's the problem. Our defensive is still good, but our offensive is just not good enough. Haaland off, no playmaker, only depends on Alvarez. Pep needs to solve this asap

  6. that’s just pep sometimes, remind me of Sterling last three seasons where he used him all across the front line every chance.

  7. Talent, no question, but Phil's been playing 5 years without looking great in any position, or looking any stronger than when he was in the under 18s. I came down to earth about him ages ago. Some haven't.
