      Phillips will either end up at west ham in january as part of a paqueta deal or end up at newcastle depending on tonali,seems like a decent lad but too many players in front of him now at city.

      Ya gotta laugh at these Man City fans 😂 complaining about players like Philips it’s not that long since they were playing in league 1 this guy is definitely old enough to remember what they were before they bought their “success” and now an England international isn’t good enough……

      Tbf Jon is right I've said it for months Kalvin Phillips always stands in a position where the ball is blocked off.

      I don't think though its a case of Phillips not being able to do it I think it's more he's just scared of making a mistake

      Some players just go off the boil, sometimes it's ego, other times they aren't as good as the hype, sometimes it's confidence and lack thereof.

      If you look at other similar players; Sancho, Alli, Rashford, etc, there are varying reasons to their form. For Kalvin I think the move to City went to his head, and then injuries piled up and between believing he's that good and realising his confidence is low he just hasn't ever become the player he was at Leeds.

      What do people expect with phillips, as a Leeds fan I can say that he was a bang average mid table championship midfielder for years. Until bielsa got hold of him and made him better than anyone ever thought he could be.

      Phillips isn't naturally a great player, biesla just squeezed the utmost out of him.

      Now his limitations are being exposed in an elite side. It's hardly surprising to me as a Leeds fan, it's a miracle that our players like phillips, Bamford, Harrison, cooper etc got to the Premier league in the first place. As they were all average even at championship level.

      It was bielsa turning water into wine.

      Phillips may be at a good enough level right now for Villa or Newcastle at a push, but he was never a city or arsenal calibre player. I called it as soon as he left us that he wouldn't make it at the Etihad.

      Was exactly what we at Arsenal found out about Sambi Lokonga. His football iq was simply never going to be the requisite level to succeed at a top club

      Phillips is a nice kid but he was massively overrated off the back of that simple pass to Sterling for Englands winning goal in their opening game of Euro 2020 against Croatia. One from the pass it sideways/backwards academy and as for his shooting, don't think I've seen someone hit a ball as bad since Fred for Manchester United.

      He is bang average, never understood why City, Bielsa got some good seasons out of him, but he really isn’t and never will be a top pl midfielder.

      All I know Karim Benzema is a great player and real men who has a blls to say what he believe and think it’s a true. Unlike his president E.Makron is a coward, two faced bs.

      I’d take him at Newcastle. Pep isn’t the type of manager who can squeeze a lot of of what are previously average players. Philips needs that type of Manager like Bielsa and I think Howe can get the same effect, has a great track record since he’s come in doing that
