      Some of these England players selected must turn up to England duty with imposter syndrome.. Looking at players who perform every week and knowing there are players not selected because of you performing every week you must feel awful deep down

      The problem for Southgate is the longer he leaves out JWP the more tension there will be between them if he's eventually called up ; I can't see it ever happening now. Southgates made a mistake.

      Its hard to take when phillips and Maguire are in, if they were on form, fair enough.
      But Connor Gallagher, whats he done?

      I'm a Chelsea fan and right now, at this moment in time or just in general I think it is disrespectful to ignore consistently hard working players that constantly go above and beyond for their club form and pick non deserving lazy players such as Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire to use as an example to represent England.

      Southgate has no respect at all for likes of players such as Dunk, Ward Prowse, Bowen, Tomori and a few others who have always been in good form for their clubs but continue to be bypassed by Southgate for his favourites. Players should be picked on their overall form and how they are contributing to their club, not because they are part of a team in the top 6 that is playing in Europe. Southgate has no respect at all and his egotistical behaviour will come back to bite him where it hurts. I wont be surprised if England get knocked out of Euro 2024 next year, not because of our talent, but our lack of utilising and or giving other players a chance to impress and mount their case as to why they should be given a chance to represent England. Anyone can pull me up on what I said if some of it is right or wrong, but this is my opinion.

      Rashford, Maguire and some of those who have been given multiple chances and yet have underperformed at club level, DO NOT deserve a free pass to represent England. They should be axed and other candidates should be given an opportunity.

      Pope, Longstaff, Burn, Wilson, Trippier, Anderson, Lascelles, Murphy. All English and playing in Champions League yet only one selected for the England squad. The fact Southgate is rarely seen at St James' Park is telling.

      I think the problem is more about who Southgate is playing rather than the squad itself. I don't see how Henderson is getting in the team anymore. I might have picked Lascelles over Maguire, as Lascelles is in top form recently. I don't understand the negativity surrounding Maguire.

      So before, Gareth said he would pick on form and didn't. This time round when questioned why no JWP he said cant just pick him on recency bias. He has also said no players coming through and that's because they are never played. We are through top in this group as we will win the last 2 games. No one from the first 11 needs to play in them 2 games or even this one for that matter.

      Dan Burn was literally part of one the best defences in Europe last season and couldn’t get a look in.

      I doubt he’s ever going to be considered.

      This is getting boring. He's not in the squad because he is nowhere near as good enough as the rich quality of midfielders that are in there.

      The argument that some make against Phillips is laughable. He's never had a bad England game and ran the show against Italy, until he tired and it was only when he went off that we looked vulnerable.

      Gareth Southgate is a total disgrace! NOT picking one of the best players in the league, based om form, in James Ward-Prowse is disgusting behaviour by the manager.

      Its just going to be Garerth to call up the players he has pressured to but they will not see a single minute. He will start play Rashford, Hendo, Maguire and even Phillips. Ollie and Jarred will be lucky to see a minute

      Yeah yeah, Maguire, Henderson and Philips have never let him down, until they let him down. Southgate is just turning into a caricature of himself to poke fun at! Well, feom a selfish point of view at least JWP will be well rested for after the break. COYI's!!!
