Keown's defence collapses when you remember Arsenal have spent a lot of money to not have a replacement for Saka – spent big on Havertz though. And yes, Saka should hae been rested against Bournemouth At some point you have to trust your squad.

He has been used unnecessarily. I remember around March/April last season against Leeds we were like 3-0 up and Saka had been ill in the week. He wasn’t fit to start but like I said were 2 or 3 up and the manager brought him on before the 60th minute from what I remember. It was just ridiculous. The injury was clearly severe after Bournemouth at the weekend and he couldn’t put any pressure on the damaged leg given the context that we have our biggest game of the season thus far against City immediately after he should definitely have been rested for Lens because he WASNT FULLY FIT

I said Saka's performance levels dropped in January last season. This season i was convinced Saka would be injured within 10-15 games and was attacked for my prediction. Player burn out at Saka's age will cause long term issues and slow player development down which is why using young players needs to weighed carefully against game time..
Pretty much all of Arsenal's young stars historically had reoccuring injury issues like Wiltshire, Walcott, Iwobi, Bendtner,Ramsey, Nasri and Chamberlain all under Wenger, so something needs to change at the club. They called it the Arsneal curse. I call it mismanagement.
