I don’t like ggg, but it is sad watching our young fans get so worked up, because a player like Gio will never succeed. He is a petulant little narcissistic diva and has so far shown that not one coach trusts him. He will be in the loser mls within two years.

1:44 is all you need to know, and Herc was right. That is Berhalter, and he will not change. Reyna might have looked terrific, but the only way Berhalter will find a fit is if there's an injury or if he just plays Reyna out of position. And Seb's right, gave him the summer off, etc. Maybe Berhalter will prove me wrong… maybe he'll have some imagination and be able to truly change tact a bit. But I'm not holding my breath…

I'm not USian but just play the christmas tree 4-3-2-1 formation with Pulisic and Reyna behind a striker. Fullbacks have to play almost as wingbacks in that system, just make sure the midfield knows they have to cover them.

This US team is potentially the most talented ever and with the North American World Cup coming up I really hope we get a better manager… cannot have a manager that causes locker room issues to take the team far…
Berhalter isn't intelligent enough and has too much ego to fit Gio in. He's not able to adapt his theories to match the realities of the team he has available.
Not sure why we got rid of everyone to hire Matt amd Gregg. Doesn't make much sense.

Herc is exactly correct. GGG will not start Reyna over the players he prefers. At best he will be subbed in at the 75' or so. He will not play a system that takes advantage of Reyna's skills. Additionally, Gregg's system will not take advantage of Balogun's skills. Until Gregg shows the ability to adjust his preferred system, one that the Dutch head coach said was rigid and easily adjusted to, I will not be optimistic about the US' chances in 2026.

The USMNT not having to qualify for this WC is the worst thing right now. It takes the pressure off the federation when it comes to how well the team plays in the next few years. They can just spin it like the teams performance doesn't matter because they're just 'evaluating' players the whole time and that's all that matters.

Berhalter is a mediocre manager. But it's worse than that. There is something toxic about the usmnt program under Greggy. And it's our best players who are harmed the most.
