      Top man but most overated player in world football after Messi.

      People talking about him in the same bracket as Maldini, Nesta, Baresi, Cannavaro, Chiellini, Ramos, Puyol, Terry, Stam etc.

      He’s had 2 good seasons & 1 great season. Nowhere near the levels of world class strikers in world football anymore. Kane, Lewandowski & Benzema and that’s it. And two of them are 34. (Haaland isn’t there yet).

      If he played 10 years ago he’d be just another half decent Centre Back.

      As a Liverpool fan, I used to really dislike Gary, but that's football. I can honestly say I really like him as a pundit, and his opinions are always fair. I also won't ever forget what he did for football on the pitch and also against the super league nonsense. Virgil is such a chilled guy, an absolute inspiration for many including my son who plays academy football.

      On his comments abouts the World Cup, I feel that any team can win it. For the first time, I do not see any great teams out there. England have done well in tournaments of late, but their recent form is poor and I can't think of any players who are in electric form. But who else can do it? Maybe it's time for an outsider to come in and take it? I hope not, but hey, it's possible.

      Some fans on social media go too far and turn people off Virgil , but him from 2017-2022 he was brilliant that injury fucked him up , he went a full year without being dribbled past that's ridiculous and is the reason he was slightly beaten to the ballon d'Or by Messi in 2020 ,he came 2nd

      The Giroud's haters must be so desperate when he named Giroud the harsh nightmare for him as a striker… when you know the numbers of international top srikers which were playing in the same championship and he mentionned the national team level as well for Giroud.. .That proves that Giroud is the most underrrated striker of all footbal History, he doesn't deserve the way many are disrespecting or even insulting him. Thanks Virgil for your talk about Giroud, you have rehabilitated him and you knw what you are talking of, I guess 😉
