Excellent piece. As a United fan, I agree with every single word! Southgate was blaming fans and shirking his responsibility as a manager. This is his fault, because he LIED when he said call ups were based on playing and performnces at club level. Maguire needs to improve his performances period. If he shows hes better than the other centerbacks at United, he'll play. But for one thing he has no recovery pace. That alone is one reason why he remains 6th choice. Carragher must have been on something when he made that statement. Screaming at players was something even he is guilty of.
