Andre Ayew is there for his leadership qualities. We may not like it but you do need leaders in the team. Leaders who have experience in the team, have the respect of the locker room, and can organize the players to adhere to the manager's tactics. That's why Amartey will always start for the BS when he's available. That's why for England, Harry Maguire always gets called up. He sucks and barely gets playing time for Man U BUT he's an important senior player who is needed to organize the back. This is the issue with Chelsea at the moment.

I thought Chris Houghton was going to be firm in his call-ups, but evidently, with the inclusion of Baba Rhaman and Dede Ayew, it's the same Kurt Okraku's influence. Not only Andre Ayew has NOT been active in playing football for months, the guy does NOT even have a team, for goodness sake. Even when he had a team, his performances with the Black Stars have been awful. There is no way Dede Ayew should still be part of the Black Stars, let alone being the Captain of the team. Are we serious??? These so-called experienced players like Dede Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Amartey, are the cause of the Black Stars failure to achieve anything in recent years. So, my question to Chris Houghton is – are you trying to re-build the team or just continuing with players who have proven year over year without giving us results that justify their inclusion in the team? What is Richard Ofori doing in the squad, at this point of time? Where is the young and promising goalie called Amisah in the squad? Woe unto you, Chris Houghton, if we end up losing this game. Most Ghanaians, including myself, advocated for you to be the head coach of the Black Stars, but I am seeing that you have allow the corrupt GFA headed by Kurt Okraku to infiltrate into your players selection process – And that's very disappointing.

A lot of people seem to think that building a team is simply bringing together random players, playing a formation and thats it. It's more than that, you need the right personalities as well. I don't support the decision to callup Andre, but Hughton makes a fair point and he's the coach, and we're not. We are not behind the scenes with the team and what we know is through journalists and not all of them speak the truth. If Hughton thinks this is the right choice then I back him but he has to deliver. Hopefully he knows what he's doing.

Consider the fact that Amartey and Partey are not available I feel the coach is right to have the National Captain in camp, afterall out of the 25 not all players will be selected in the match, I am sure Dede would not be starting the game. Let us let the coach do his job and judge him on results
Sahara, you talk as if Andre Ayew is the only Ghanaian 🇬🇭 player without a club being received Black star call up. In 2010, Stephen Appiah was Clubless, but he joint the 2010 FIFA World 🌏 Cup. In 2006, an Angola Captain was Clubless but he joint the 2006 Angola team in the 2006 World 🌏 Cup. And Andre Ayew is not an ordinary player. He is the Captain of the team. In these squad Partey is injured, Amartey is injured, Kamaldeen is injured, Daniel Kofi Kyereh is injured, our so many key players are injured. So what prevented Christ Haughton to bring Andre Ayew into the squad?
