  1. Good analysis. My feelings are that last year we were playing on a high with the takeover and new feel to the club that pushed some players to over perform. The problem is that it’s not sustainable and the cracks are starting to show now the hype has settled.

Burn, Trippier and Schar are slowing down with age. Miggy and longstaff are not champions league level technically and we have Willock and Joelinton out injured for who knows how long. We are still 5-6 players away from competing at the top consistently.

  2. Wilson, Gordon and Botman in that order. So far Gordon has been the standout for me this season. He is our most dangerous front player. Callum is clinical and you can bet your house on him converting a spot kick.

  3. Klopp is fast becoming no 1 twat. Frank let himself down last season with his “65 million” remark. The continuation of that wasn’t a surprise. I live in Brentford and Bees fans love him but they don’t ‘like him’ much.
Sven Botman………well, we all know what our January window signing will be.
Left pairing of the front six? Joelinton is great in that position but he’s far more of a ‘inside left’ midfield half space player. Same for Anderson. Barnsie is more ‘winger’ like and Gordon is very much a front three player. Lots of options. Joelinton protects Burn more. No disrespect to Dan – love him – but teams try to exploit his mobility (lack of) on that side. Same for Ando. Bottom line is that I’m sure they’ll get the best combo sorted.

  4. Penalty was doubtful, but then we had the disallowed goal and the other penalty shout. It’s a win, all that matters.
    ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Gordon
    ⭐️⭐️ Botman
    ⭐️ Anderson

  5. Good analysis Craig, Gordon was our best player by a mile followed by Botman then Schar. Wilson is a predator our best no. 9 and I would love Eddie to play him as 9 with Isak and Gordon either side of him. Bruno is coming on nicely not his best yet but getting there.

  6. we're going to struggle for top6 poor summer recruitment we look terrible to watch playing like a different team from last season carnt blame champions league we haven't played in it yet way short of top quality signings simple as that

  7. Thought the referee had a shocking game – VAR not any better. Disallowed a perfectly good goal & not a penalty for me. In fact Gordon seems to be getting a bit of a reputation for cheating.
Thomas Frank is upset because the decision yesterday seems to contradict what happened when Vicario, Spurs' keeper, took out Schade – he may have a point.
I've never liked the modern notion of "engineering" a contact to get a penalty. I hate it when it happens to us and so I can't condone it when we do the same.

  8. Newcastle play as well as I thought they would. But lucky to win . But somethings not right with them . Hope we can beat inter but don’t want to piss on the fire . I don’t think so

  9. 3* Gordon 2* wilson1*schar..botman reminds me of how woodgate made bramble look good..he never looks outstanding but never looks average or poor

  10. The fact we beat Brentford 5-1 last season is irrelevant, it's also a bit baffling to say we are a long way from how we performed last season as a whole, we had a really poor spell last season too. We aren't playing well, we're struggling to apply ourselves and look a bit nervous and therefore the 3 points are absolutely crucial.
I think this proves that as a team we're not performing collectively and it shows that pointing at the midfield of Bruno and Tonali as being unable to okey together was too premature.
Brentford are a very good side, we beat them and hopefully it'll kick start our season.

  12. it was a penalty. I'd really like to see Eddie develop Longstaff as a no.6 enforcer to close out those gaps. That frees up 2 out of 3 of Bruno, Tonali and Big Joe as creative midfielders.

  13. Lots of English players in the starting line up, not always a good thing. Only Trippier is good enough to play for England on a consistent basis.

  14. don't forget klopp has the Merseyside press eating out the palm of his hand…you only had to listen to their cackling the other week when he mentioned Newcastle. The dick

  15. I thought it was a pen, it looked like Gordon put his body in between the opponent and the ball much like anyone would when protecting the ball and the keeper (what was he doing that second half?!) goes through him.

Am I the only one very concerned about Joelinton getting constant bookings in the Champion's League? I can see European refs flashing yellows at everything he does. Even if he gets the ball!

  16. Nobody seems to mention in the collision between Gordon and their keeper that a second before that after Hickey plays a bad ball back to the keeper he sees Gordon is going to close it down and shoved him as he goes past almost knocking him into the keeper.
I think that was the reason Gordon turned his body as much as anything else.
End of the day they disallowed a good goal, and we got a decision with which 2 pundits in the sky studio agreed with.
