Who cares, move on.
Nothing wrong with Henderson going to Saudi. Not everyone cares about LGTVB. Good on Hendo.
The funny thing is, if all these players moving to Saudi Arabia just came out and admitted that the move was largely driven because of the finances involved, most people would accept that.
Trying to pretend it's not that and that they are interested in the project and trying to build the league, is why people get annoyed.
In Henderson's case, considering what he has said in the past before, is an absolute hypocrite, simple as.
This use of the buzzword "Human Rights Issues" is getting a bit silly. What exactly are we talking about? 1000's of years of culture and history? Or is it recent specific events? Is it really because you're not allowed to show affection in public? And the gay community has taken this as a personal attack because they can no longer flaunt their sexuality in the public eye in these countries? Pathetic.
It's truly astounding how – just as we saw with the WC in Qatar – the western world is having a complete meltdown realising there exists a world and culture outside of their bubbles, and exposing their hypocrisy with the sudden concern about morals or values in the country.
Yesterday Ally and Andy both said Henderson was not being honest, yet today Ally is siding with Henderson.

No one has any aspirations to play in Saudi Arabia, it is only the money that takes people there. Players should just own that rather than pretend thereโs some sporting and noble reasons for doing so.

Yes, he moved for the money. But once a person lives in the culture he is exposed to other sides of the place, he becomes less cynical about the prospects, an attachment grows and he will start defending other elements that wasn't initially apparent. He's explanation may have been clumsy, but it's understandable
Hendo should just stay quiet, he's making things worse. Most Liverpool fans think Hendo was a great captain, myself included, and most were ok with him going as he's getting on, but what disappointed me most was him throwing Klopp and the owners under the bus. So he would have stayed at Liverpool if they'd wanted him to stay, while also saying he spoke to Klopp and he wasn't getting the playing time he wanted…which is it?
He went for the money, we all know this, and he's not the only one to get criticism, in fact Hendo news was long forgotten until he dropped this interview.

Top flight football is awash with silly amounts of money and surprise, surprise, Saudi and other Gulf states pay even more. Teachers, builders and the rest have been going there for decades despite human rights abuses. Somehow footballers are 'role models' and should know better.
Completely missing just how big of an advocate for equality and LGBTQ rights Henderson was. The others who moved there don't get flack because they weren't out every game with rainbow laces on, making commericials about how society shouldn't tolerate certain behaviours, then moves to a country that completely opposes everything he once stood for. He won't admit it was about money because it would confirm him as a moral fraud, who only said and did activism because it helped him and his image.
Strange how we've circled back around to this subject. Thought we discussed this to death in the summer.

I'm amazed. These guys obviously aren't aware that Jordan Henderson was a gay rights ambassador. The reason they're holding him to account is because he's claimed for years that gay rights was an important cause to him. Then, he turns around and effectively endorses a country that jails people for being gay. That's why he's been given a hard time.

The issue is not the money or even the activism; it's the insult to public intelligence. No-one wants to be lied to and looked down upon, especially not by an uneducated footballer who seems to be demonstrably thick.
You're missing the difference in cultural context between Britain & Saudia Arabia, that is causing such inflammatory reaction in English press. In Britain, it's considered gauche openly to venerate or brag or flaunt wealth, even if you have scads of wealth and you've worked hard for it. In Arabia, it's the opposite case.
Interesting how the Western รฉmigrรฉ population to Saudi in the 2000s-2010s have never come in for criticism. And ime many of them actually are insufferable and immoral people.
Were I more cynical, I might suggest that in light of more stringent rules about to come into the English game r.e. niggles, fouls, confronting refs, and lambasting or fighting other players, LFC were keen to wash their hands and make the by-now rather prehistorically shouty and aggressive Henderson someone else's problem.
