The video analyses the Raumdeuter Role, coined by Thomas Muller, in football, and how it applies to Kai Havertz play-style.

I argue that we as football fans have misunderstood Havertz importance as a player and signing for Arsenal for this very reason.

His ability to drift into dangerous half spaces, anticipate and be in the right place at the right time, find pockets of space across the final third make him the perfect signing for Arsenal.

Signed for £60-65 million pounds, I will then use this new information to explain how Kai Havertz will fit into Arteta’s Arsenal system as a Raumdeuter, and make sense of a transfer that initially confused many, but has me very excited.

He also contributes defensively, with intense pressing, but this is NOT a reason for him being able to play the left-hand sided number 8 position for Arsenal I make clear. There has been quite a bit of debate surrounding where Havertz will play specifically under Arteta in the 2023/24 season, but his ineffability and Raumdeuter qualities make this redundant- he will occupy each position of our front line and midfield at some point.

This channel covers the entire Premier League, including Man United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Postecoglou, Pep Guardiola, Klopp, Pochettino, Ten Hag, the Champions League, and much more!

  1. We will soon find out how good he is. Nobody really knows. It’s going to be horrible if he plays the same way he played at Chelsea. Really, really horrible and it could cost the manager his job in the long run.

  2. lets hope we dont need such a complex justification to see whether he is good at Arsenal next season…if we do, then im afraid that was a waste of resources.

  3. Great post. I think Xhaka was already playing the space as left 8 to a degree, freed up by Zinks coming in as second pivot. Havertz probably has the attributes to do this better but his skills at pressing will be needed in a more disciplined midfield role when not in possession. Just a thought… there could be some mirroring of position and role with Odegaard? so when Zinks is the second pivot and we have a traditional right back, Havertz will be allowed the free role from left 8, but when Timber is second pivot from RB and we have, for example, Tierney as a traditional LB, perhaps Odegaard will have the Raumdeuter role from right 8, with Havertz more a mediopunto 10?

  4. First time coming across your channel, never heard of you but you earned a subscription today! Great content!

  5. Can we stop using foreign words in football for things that have English terms? Especially when we could be saying space invader which is infinitely cooler 🤷🏻‍♂️

  6. Best analysis on Kai. Always saw his role as the Space interpreter. A shadow striker in a way. Players like Dybala and Griezmann always find it hard in systems cause they are half 10/9 rather than 8/10. Gabriel Jesus movements will be vital on the left.

  7. Such a good take – great content. Really interesting to hear the breakdown of the physical uniqueness of the role.

Very disappointed to see the fan response to this signing. The same 'fans' that believe the links to Mbappe are the ones throwing hate on this. Havertz is a really intelligent player with a disruptive ability. Chelsea have not had this type of framework for a long time now.

People also forget he bagged 18% of all Chelsea's goals in the prem last year too.

  8. It's my fiest time watching your youtube channel. And my first vid to watch is analysis of our preseason game against Barca. As i was still watching, i had no choice but to subscribe and receive all notifications from you. You explain exactly what I think and answering questions that i had. You're a genius.

  9. Yeah, mate, you're right on point. One recent one recent raumdeuter at Arsenal was Aaron Ramsey. I'll rest my rants at his signing. Thanks for the clarity

  10. When is this going to happen then?
Only at the moment we look worse than last year…..

I wish Havertz was going unnoticed, at the moment I notice that he slows us down every time he touched the ball.

Are you saying De Bruyne and Maddison are Raum Deuters too? Because that's absolute bollox.

I really hope you're right, but I think this might be wishful thinking…..
